Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Here are the books we're teasing this week:

Title: The Summer I Became a Nerd
Author: Leah Rae Miller
Series: n/a
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Publication Date: May 7, 2013
Source: eARC received from Rockstar Tours for blog tour
Purchase: Amazon | Barnes & Noble

On the outside, seventeen-year-old Madelyne Summers looks like your typical blond cheerleader—perky, popular, and dating the star quarterback. But inside, Maddie spends more time agonizing over what will happen in the next issue of her favorite comic book than planning pep rallies with her squad. That she’s a nerd hiding in a popular girl's body isn’t just unknown, it's anti-known. And she needs to keep it that way.

Summer is the only time Maddie lets her real self out to play, but when she slips up and the adorkable guy behind the local comic shop’s counter uncovers her secret, she’s busted. Before she can shake a pom-pom, Maddie’s whisked into Logan’s world of comic conventions, live-action role-playing, and first-person-shooter video games. And she loves it. But the more she denies who she really is, the deeper her lies become…and the more she risks losing Logan forever.

“Aw, poor cheerleader. Listen, I didn’t call you over here to soothe your aching bloomers. I called you over here because I want Logan to be happy. He deserves it. If it means getting the girl he’s been hardcore pining after, then damn it, I’m going to make that happen.”
-- p. 166 of galley

Hmm.  I like this guy already.  Seems to me that Maddie needs someone to give her the what-for.  =)  Stop back by on Thursday for my review as part of the blog tour for this book, hosted by Rockstar Book Tours.

Title: Flat-Out Love
Author: Jessica Park
Series: Flat-Out Love, book #1
Publisher: Brilliance Audio
Publication Date: November 17, 2012
Source: purchased audio
Purchase: Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Audible

To college freshman Julie Seagle the emotionally scrambled members of the Watkins family of Boston add up to something that ... well ... doesn't quite add up. Only the funny, gorgeous, smart oldest brother Finn is emotionally available--but only online? Not until Julie forces a buried secret to the surface, eliciting a dramatic confrontation that threatens to tear the fragile Watkins family apart, does she get her answer.

“Mom, I have to go. I think this Matt character is here.”
     “Are you sure it's him?”
Julie peered into the car as the window lowered. “I see a maniacal-looking guy with brightly-colored candy in one hand, and he's waving a sickle in the other. Oh! He's beckoning me to the car. This must be my ride.”

This book is pretty humorous, and I love how sarcastic and witty Julie is.  Jen just finished the audio and gave it five stars, so I think I'm going to like it.  :)
