In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. It's a weekly meme where we all get to brag about the books and swag we got in the mail, for review, won in contests, etc.
First, we want to wish everyone in the States a Happy Memorial Day weekend! And if you're not in the US, well, we hope you have a great weekend, anyway. =) Either way, I hope you'll take a moment to remember those who served and those who continue to serve. We may not all agree with the reason(s), but we can still support our troops and remember the fallen.
On a lighter note, here's what we got this week...
For Review:
click on covers to be taken to the Goodreads page for each book
Of Triton by Anna Banks - Of Poseidon was Jen's first mermaid book. And though it didn't end up being her favorite, it was still pretty funny at times, and she's still excited about the sequel. Thanks to AudioGO and Audiobook Jukebox for providing an audiobook for review!
Left Drowning by Jessica Park - We absolutely adored Flat-Out Love and we can't wait to read Jessica Park's newest book. We were slow to join the NA bandwagon, but these books are slowly reeling us in. :) Thanks to Amazon Children's Publishing and Netgalley for providing a copy for review!
Tumble & Fall by Alexandra Coutts - We're having flashbacks to Armageddon, both because of the cover and the premise, how about you guys? It wasn't our favorite movie, but we have hope for this book. Thanks to Macmillan and Netgalley for the galley!
Freebies:
So, that's our haul. How about you? What did you get this week?

Jen's Currently Reading/Listening:
I kinda loved Katie McGarry's debut Pushing the Limits, despite some early reservations, and I am now loving reading from tough-girl Beth's POV. And Ryan's. Swoon City as far as he goes. =)
I had no intentions of picking up this book, but that's before I knew it was about unconventional zombies. Also, it's narrated by Khristine Hvam, one of my absolute favorite narrators.
Mendy's Currently Reading/Listening:
I'm still enjoying this one...it's just taking me a little while to get through it because of real-life obligations.
The Week Ahead:
(Possible) Reviews of Sweet Peril (audio), On the Jellicoe Road (audio), Unbreakable (audio), Tiger Lily (audio), Dare You To & The Pirate's Wish.....we'll see how the week goes before we make any promises. :P
We'll be discussing reading slumps and slump busters on this week's Sunday Symposium post. Something came up and I wasn't able to post over the weekend. Sorry, guys. :(

I was looking through Jen's Audible account for my next listen, and I remembered she liked this one. I had been about to DL On the Jellicoe Road, but she told me to listen to this one first because Jellicoe would ruin all others for me for awhile.

Ooh, great hauls! Thanks for the heads up, it's still free so I'm getting it! *high fives* Can't wait for tomorrow to see your post!
ReplyDeleteI also requested Tumble & Fall and it reminds me of Armageddon too, for the exact same reasons! I finished Dare You To yesterday and really enjoyed it, though it didn't impact me as much as Pushing the Limits did.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading, and happy Memorial Day!

I'm scared of Tumble & Fall -- the world ending sounds so … bleak. So you will read it and tell me what you think.
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I really enjoyed Reboot, and I hope you do too!
