In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. It's a weekly meme where we all get to brag about the books and swag we got in the mail, for review, won in contests, etc.
First off, Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mothers out there! We hope you all have a wonderful day!
Second, Mendy got approved for her first review titles this week! How exciting!!! Now if she could only finish the books she's currently working on. =) Here's the rest of our haul...
For Review:
The Beautiful and the Cursed by Page Morgan - The publisher sent an ARC, and my goodness, the cover is even more gorgeous in person!
OCD Love Story by Corey Ann Haydu - This is one of Mendy's first approvals!!!
Dance of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin - Jen LOVED the first book, even though she still hasn't decided who to ship. Time to figure it out in this conclusion to the two-part series.
Across a Star-Swept Sea by Diana Peterfreund - Never read The Scarlet Pimpernel, nor have we read the companion novel. But from all accounts, we won't be lost because of that.
How to Love by Katie Cotugno - This was Mendy's WoW pick this week!
Once We Were by Kat Zhang - Another sequel Jen's very much been looking forward to!
You Are Mine by Janeal Falor - Jen actually received this for review from the author a couple of weeks ago, but she wanted to mention it anyway because the book just released this week.
Purchased/Audiobooks:
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey - Jen had a HC pre-ordered, but she couldn't wait for it to arrive, so she DL'd the audiobook. And sometimes she is rewarded for her impatience. Such a fantastic story and great narration! This is her first Yancey book, but it surely won't be her last if all the gasps and shocked looks are any indication.

Jen's Currently Reading/Listening:
Ermahgerd, when Wendy Darling declared that "this book could very well be the next Hunger Games," she wasn't kidding. I am so utterly impressed with this story. And the audio is phenomenal.
I've been super busy with kids' projects and family stuff, so I'm still working on the same books from last week. We're thinking about doing a joint-discussion about Flat-Out Love instead of the usual review.
The Week Ahead:
Reviews of Golden, The Beautiful and the Cursed, Goddess & The 5th Wave (audio)
As I've mentioned before, I'm one of the Elementals Virgins on the Spirit Blog Tour hosted by The Midnight Garden! And it's not too late to sign up!!!
Awesome haul! I've already ordered The 5th Wave off Amazon and I'm SOO excited to read it. It's my most anticipated book of May! The Beautiful and the Cursed has a GORGEOUS cover, and I really, really, really need to get my hands on Dance of the Red Death and Across a Star-Swept Sea. I absolutely loved the first book. Can't wait to see your reviews!!!!! :D

Oomph The Beautiful and the Cursed and Dance of the Red Death! God I want those books >.< Still keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be accepted for the Bethany Griffin tour. I ship Araby/Will, by the way ;)
ReplyDeleteEveryone seems to love the 5th Wave, which usually makes me suspicious, but I'm really interested to hear what you think of it!
