In My Mailbox #59

Saturday, December 8, 2012 with 15 comments

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.  It's a weekly meme where we all get to brag about the books and swag we got in the mail, for review, won in contests, etc.

Lots o' goodies this week...almost like Christmas came early!  :D

For Review:

Infatuate by Aimee Agresti - I read (and loved) Illuminate after receiving it earlier this year at ALA Midwinter.  I hadn't even heard of the book prior to that, and admittedly, it didn't generate a lot of buzz when it was released, but I'm so glad I asked for a copy because I truly enjoyed this story and the unique spin on angels.  I can't wait to see what's in store next for Haven, Lance, and Dante...okay, and yeah, Lucian, too.  =)

Thanks to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for the ARC!

Going Vintage by Lindsey Leavitt - Does this book sound super cute or what?  Technology leads to the demise of her relationship, so she swears off any and all technology, then sets out to complete her grandmother's to-do list?  This is going to be interesting...and fun!

Thanks to Bloomsbury Children's and Netgalley!

Deep Betrayal by Anne Greenwood Brown -  LOVED Lies Beneath.  It wasn't my favorite mer-tale, but it's a close second.  Which reminds me, I still need to write that darn review!  I listened to the audio, and the voice of Calder was just swoon-worthy...though, the swoonage could have been related to the actual character.  :D

Thanks to Random House & Netgalley for the review copy!

The Goddess Inheritance by Aimee Carter - I love mythology.  I've enjoyed this series up to this point, though I haven't read book #2.5, the one with the short stories.  Anyone know if I'll be missing any info if I don't read that before this one?

Thanks to Harlequin Teen and Netgalley!

Losing It by Cora Carmack - I've heard soooo many good things about Losing It!  MC sounds a bit awkward, love interest has an accent and is swoonalicious...sounds like fun times to me.

Thanks to William Morrow Paperbacks/HarperCollins & Edelweiss!

Flawed by Kate Avelynn - Okay, I'm pretty sure I'm going to feel a bit squicky at times during this novel, but sometimes you gotta step out of  your comfort zone when it comes to a good book.  Also, how awesome are dandelions?  ;0)

Thanks to Entangled Publishing & Netgalley for the review copy!

Nancy Clancy, Secret Admirer by Jane O'Connor - These book are freaking adorable.  I can't wait to sit down and read this one with my Katiebug.  She was all over it as soon as she saw it arrive in the mail.  :-)

Thanks to HarperCollins for the ARC!

Won/Gifted:

Engame by Ann Aguirre (signed) - I actually haven't started this series yet, but you don't say no to a signed book from Ann Aguirre.  :)  I love her YA series, and I've heard good things about this one, as well, so I'm looking forward to finding the time for it.

Thanks to Ann Aguirre for gifting a signed copy for review!

Purchased:

Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson & Lauren Myracle - Bought a copy for the US part of my giveaway and decided I needed my own copy.  Hope to get to it this coming week so I can get my holiday read on.

Black City by Elizabeth Richards - Grr.  I was on an ARC tour for this one, but things happened and it was cancelled.  So, I bought my own copy so I can see what all the fuss is about.

So, how did your mailbox fare this week?  Any holiday books in there?  :)
