So, since my end-of-the-week post isn't just about what I got in my mailbox or on my Kindle each week -- though that is a big part of it, I won't lie -- I decided to change up the title and intro a bit. I might tweak the format a bit over the next few weeks, but for the most part, it'll contain the same stuff: stuff I got, stuff I did, and stuff that's coming up on the blog. Plus, I get to use the awesome GIF you see here and blow kisses to all the people who sent me lovely books and bookish things. Oh, and I've started linking up to Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews since I'm not using a specific meme title anymore. April's also doing her own Stacking the Shelves posts on Sundays. Stop by and say hi! =)
It's here! It's here! It's finally here! No, not Daylight Savings Time. SPRING BREAK!!! :D And none too soon! Katie's been battling allergies, and I've been battling buffoons at work, and we're both ready for some time off. We're going to relax for a couple of days, maybe take in a movie or something, and then we're headed to Austin to visit Auntie Kat later in the week, with Jerrod playing chauffeur. :) I just love road trips, especially this time of year when the weather is pretty mild. Too bad I get sick reading in the car because I got a ton of great new reads over the last few days. o_O
Anyway, here's what I scored this week:

Jen's Currently Reading/Listening To:
Kristen basically told me that I had to read this one next so we could discuss it. So, as soon as I finished The Falconer, I picked this one up...and I haven't been able to put it down! That's always a good sign. =)
When I finished the audiobook for Murder of Crows, I was determined to listen to a cute contemporary after all the mayhem. And I was also trying to remember the book where the dad was a famous romance novelist, a la Nicholas Sparks, and then I remembered it was this one, so I promptly started my happy little re-listen of this gem.

Wish You Were Italian and Fool Me Twice seem really cute, curious to see what you think of them! Also excited to see what you thought of Solving for Ex, I loved it! Enjoy Spring Break, I have to wait another week for mine and am totally jealous :P
ReplyDeleteRachel @ the NerdHerd Reads
That sucks, but at least if it's another week away, there's a better chance for nicer weather, right? (I'm just trying to be optimistic for you. :D) Those do sound really cute...I've been in that kinda mood lately, which is also why I read Solving for Ex. I had planned on reviewing that one this week, but I got sucked into a new book and couldn't tear myself away, lol.
DeleteSo jealous about your Summer of Thrills package. I want it badly! Haha! And I kept forgetting to tweet at you so we could flail over THE WIZARD'S PROMISE and it's AMAZING cover! WE COULD BUDDY READ THAT ONE. So many ideas! Heh.
ReplyDeletePS--my spring break is this week, too! (And it couldn't come soon enough!) :)
You know you're always welcome to borrow anything...well, except the mask. :P SOOOO excited about The Wizard's Promise. We should totally buddy read that one! Did we buddy read The Pirate's Wish, or did we only talk about doing that? I can't remember. #buddyreadfail
DeleteYay, I know you badly need a spring break with all the work you've been putting in! Enjoy your time off! :D
Great little haul this week I see many awesome books. Enjoy your Spring Break, ours is still a week away *sigh*. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm excited to get away for a little bit. :) Only another week and then you'll be relaxing, too. Hope you have a great weekend, too!
DeleteWow, over half of these are books that I have been wanting to read! I hope you like them!
ReplyDeleteHere's mine: http://myfullbookshelfreviews.blogspot.com/2014/03/stacking-shelves-3814_8.html
Thanks...they're all books I've been wanting to read, too! :)
DeleteGreat haul! I like updates like these because I'm not always great about getting around to blogs during the week. Work makes me exhausted, and when I get home I tend to pass out haha. The Wizard's Promise has a cool cover, but I haven't heard of it. I'll have to check it out. Happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteMy StS
I have the same issue...when I get home, I do all the stuff I have to and then pass out reading, so I don't usually get around to visiting blogs until the weekend. I'm glad you find the post helpful, though. The Wizard's Curse is kind of a companion series to Cassandra Rose Clarke's The Assassin's Curse duology...it's set in the same world but with different characters. Which means I'm very excited about it. :)
DeleteWow. A lot of these books look really awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing your reviews!!
ReplyDeleteThanks...I'm looking forward to making time for all of them! :D
DeleteI saw the Ring and the Crown on Netgalley a while back but I passed it by. I read one of her books back in the day and I wasn't a huge fan. I wonder if i would like her newer stuff. I'll wait and see what you think of it first. lol
ReplyDeleteI saw it on NG, too, and passed because I recently read Frozen, which she co-wrote w/ her hubby, and it was pretty mediocre. But this one *sounds* good, and I love fantasy, so we'll see. :)
DeleteLooks like you had a great week in books!! And I hope you enjoy your vacation!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a great week! :) Thanks...I plan to!
DeleteThe Body in the Woods sounds decidedly creepy. But ooooh, shiny cover of The Ring And The Crown. For some reasons I'm really keen on that one! I haven't heard too much about it yet, though *shrugs* so tooootally looking forward to your review.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it? I hope it's as good as it sounds. The cover for The Ring and the Crown is absolutely gorgeous...I hope the story inside matches!
DeleteThat's a great haul, and The Wizard's Promise looks amazing! I'm really excited about Feather Bound by Sarah Raughley. Same publisher, I think. Anyway, have fun with all your new books :)
ReplyDeleteJessica @ Rabid Reads
I kind of love Strange Chemistry. Of the books I've read that they've published, I've loved them all. Especially CRC's other series set in the same world as The Wizard's Promise.
DeleteCongratulations on all your wonderful books!

DeleteAwesome haul this week!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my STS.
It was pretty epic, wasn't it? :)
DeleteOh wow. I have no words. O:
ReplyDeleteWonderful haul, Jen!
Thanks! I'm pretty excited to get to them all.
DeleteVery nice haul, Jen. The Winner's Curse, The Kiss of Deception, Dark Metropolis, Don't Look Back... all books I'm very excited about!
ReplyDeleteI've read TWC already and totally fangirled over it, but the others I'm beyond excited about. I'm already reading The Kiss of Deception, and my god, this book is phenomenal. Highly recommend!
DeleteGreat books for you this week! I hope you enjoy them!

Brittany @ Spare Time Book blog
I'm pretty excited about them, too, thanks! :D
DeleteYES! I want to hear your thoughts...TELL MEEEE haha. I can't wait to hear what you think of Kiss of Deception. Seriously. So happy the package arrived safe and sound. We'll have to buddy read Body in the Woods if you're down with it. Amazing haul this week :-) I love the Summer of Chills package.
ReplyDeleteDude, I'm already in love. This book is fantastic. I've had to be careful when I pick it up because once I do, I can't seem to put it down. =) I'd definitely be okay with reading Body in the Woods, especially if it's as creepy as it sounds. :P I'm so in love with that package...I wish I could read them through osmosis so I could get to them sooner rather than later.
DeleteAHHH! I'm also on SPRING BREAK! YAY! Enjoy your time off. I know I will. :)
ReplyDeleteI finished reading Anna and the French Kiss yesterday! I agree, it's totally adorable. :) You've got some great books this week, Jen! I can't wait to read your thoughts on them all! Enjoy!
Marlene @ The Flyleaf Review
Yay for Spring Break! After the winter we've had, we ALL deserve one! :)
DeleteAnna is adorable, but I liked Lola even more. She was a bit spunkier, I think. :D And I can't wait to get to all of these amazing new reads so I can force them on others, lol.
Nice haul. I might be slightly (VERY) jealous of that Summer of Chills pack as it is gorgeous and full of so many books I can't wait to get my hands on. I hope you enjoy your books :) My STS.
ReplyDeleteSo many awesome books! I really want to check out The Kiss of Deception. And I'm STILL waiting for The Winner's Curse to arrive! I ordered it on release day. *sigh* It should be here soon though! I need to read that bad boy. :)
