In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. It's a weekly meme where we all get to brag about the books and swag we got in the mail, for review, won in contests, etc.
I'm gearing up for some serious reading over the holiday. Short week = lots of extra reading time. Until my family starts protesting, anyway. :P
For Review:
What We Saw at Night by Jacquelyn Mitchard - A life-threatening allergy to sunlight? Parkour? And a possible murder to boot? This book is going to be awesome!
Thanks Soho Press!
The Mad Scientist's Daughter by Cassandra Rose Clarke - Okay, so I haven't read The Assassin's Curse yet, but I've heard wonderful things. And this book has robots. Yep, we're gonna get along just fine...
Thanks Angry Robot/Strange Chemistry!
Also Known As by Robin Benway - A spy novel! Featuring a teenage safecracker working with her parents! Sounds like good times. :P
Thanks Bloomsbury USA Children's Books!
Purchased/Ebook Deals:
Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill - Of course I had to add this beauty to my collection...it was my favorite contemporary of the year.
Soul Screamers Volume 2 by Rachel Vincent - I'm pretty much just adding this to my shelf for the pretty-factor. And, I love having a complete set of books.
Audiobooks:
Reached by Ally Condie - Ah, it's almost over! This isn't my favorite series, and Crossed definitely wasn't my favorite sequel ever, but I still need to know how it ends. And who Cassia's heart belongs to in the end. #TeamXander
The Nightmare Garden by Caitlin Kittredge - I really enjoyed The Iron Thorn audiobook (d'oh...just realized I still need to review that!), but this one was 2 credits on Audible, so I held off on getting it. That and I was waiting till closer to the release of the third book. But then I saw that the price dropped to 1 credit, so I snagged it. I still might wait to listen, though.
Why can't I stop requesting books? For that matter, why can't I stop buying them?!?

Ah, great haul! I've heard wonderful things about What We Saw at Night. Can't wait to see that review! Enjoy reading and family time - Thanksgiving is always a great time of year :)

Awesome haul! If I had more money I'd definitely add Rachel Vincent's second omnibus to my shelf to match the first - and to have Reaper in print! I also really want to read the Iron Thorn and Meant To Be. I don't celebrate Thanksgiving (not done in my country) but I hope you spend a lovely time with your family and still find enough time to read :)

Ahhh YAY Soul Screamers. That is one of my favorite series ever! Plus I adore that cover. And Reached too! I have such a love hate relationship with that series. I'm curious how it will all wrap up. Happy reading!

I started reading a few pages of What We Saw at Night by Jacquelyn Mitchard and it sounds good. Also I can't wait to hear what you think of Also Known As! That sounds like a book I would love!
ReplyDeleteGreat haul, Jen! SS, Vol2 is gorgeous. So is Meant to Be. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYay for Soul Screamers! I love that series so much, and the cover for that one looks so pretty. Meant to Be is another book that I can't wait to read, I'm waiting for it from the library right now :) Enjoy!
