Covers By Katie
Okay, so I totally stole this idea from Sara at Forever 17 Books, who got the idea from an article on Babble called Judging a Book by Its Cover: A 6-year-old Guesses What Classic Novels Are All About.  I just discovered her lovely segment, and I immediately requested forced my own four-year-old daughter Katie to provide me with some of her own cover art artwork and then asked her what she thought the book was about.

This week, Katie gave me her take on the following book:

"It's about a guy getting lost in the street because I see a road and he's on it."

Cover Art

Warm Bodies as envisioned by Katiebug

So, I showed this book to Katie and told her it was the movie me and Daddy went to see last weekend when she stayed at Nana and Poppa's house, so then she was pretty eager to recreate the cover and tell me what she thought it was about.  And the cover model does look all alone.  If only poor R's life was that simple...though he did get "lost" in the airport at one point, so she's not that far off base.  :P  Interested in the book or the movie?  Check out my reviews here and here.  I promise, it's not your typical zombie story.  :D

Have you read this book?  What do you think of Katie's guess at the premise?  Did your little darling create a work of art based on a book this week? If so, be sure to link up with Sara over at Forever 17 Books.

  1. Too cute! And she's pretty good at it.

I haven't read this book yet, though I keep seeing it everywhere. It just sounds kind of weird to me so I haven't been able to talk myself into it. Lots of people seem to like it though.

  2. Hee hee, I love this feature! It's always surprising to see what your kid and Sara's come up with, they're often surprisingly insightful/on the mark.

I LOVED Warm Bodies the book, and I'm really looking forward to finally seeing the movie this weekend. :)

  3. OMG I love this one!!!!! That picture is just perfect to go with what she thought too!

  4. I loved the book! I hope to see the movie soon too. And R is sort of lost so I think in some way or another she always guesses pretty close!
