Okay, so you guys probably remember back when I announced that my sister Mendy was going to start blogging with me. And then she posted a few reviews and a slightly stalkerish post about Leo. Good times. But real life has taken its toll on my dear sister and she just isn't able to find the time to read and review like she thought she'd be able to. *cue the sad faces*
But, I've been chatting with April from Sim~Sational~Books for the last couple of days, and she was looking to co-blog with someone instead of spending all of her free time trying to keep up with her own blog. I haven't been actively seeking a co-blogger, but I've wanted one for awhile. One that would actually be able to help out and post every once in awhile. I'm just picky, and after Mendy didn't work out, and her being family and all, I thought I was doomed to wander the earth, er, blogosphere, alone. (If you get that obscure reference, you are now my new best friend.)
When April indicated that she was totally serious about co-blogging AND that she wanted to do so on my blog, well, I was beyond ecstatic. I've known April for most of the three years that I've been blogging, and she just gets me. We are so much alike that we could almost be the same person: happily married, early 30s, parents of only children -- both 5yo's in Kindergarten, drama haters, and of course, booknerds. I told her that she and her hubby sound like the Pennsylvania versions of me and Jerrod, and it's funny but true. We'd all be besties if we lived nearer to each other.
Anyway, you may or may not have encountered April around the blogosphere, but either way, you're going to be seeing a lot more of her around here. Without further ado, I'd like to introduce you guys to my new co-blogger:
We are both extremely excited about this joint venture, and we look forward to where it takes us. I hope you'll all give April a warm welcome and treat her like family, 'cause she already feels like it to me. Except that I actually talk to her and don't feel the need to be all passive-aggressive with her. :P You'll see...she's totes good people.

Hi! My name is April.Besides blogging, April is responsible for some really awesome SIMS-based book trailers. You should check out her YouTube channel, too. Now that she's going to be doing her thing over here, I hope she has more time to work on those...I've really missed them and they are pretty great. She always infuses her zany sense of humor in them, too. Seriously, the girl is FUNNY. =)
I like books. Of course I do! Why else would I be here? I'm kind of at a loss when writing these things. I feel the same way sometimes when I sit down to review books. So I just wing it. Up until now, I was reviewing on my own blog. I was drowning, because the truth is, I don't have the time or motivation to run a blog myself. I didn't want to quit blogging because I love it, so when Jen offered for me to join her, I couldn't pass it up. I'm so excited to be here.
I've been an avid reader since I was in my early tweens. Back then I would sneak adult books off my mothers shelf and hide in my room to read them. Now as an adult, I'm more drawn to YA. I do read some Adult and New Adult occasionally, but YA is what I like best.
I'm that girl in the office at work who doesn't go out to lunch. I pack my lunch just so that I can have extra reading time. I've visited so many exotic places while sitting in that desk chair, it's unreal. My evenings are spent snuggling my 5 year old, kindle in hand, while she watches her shows. Life doesn't get much better than that! Books are awesome!

I have never actually heard of you April *hides in shame* but I do check "The Starry Eyed Revue" quite often on Bloglovin and I just want to say welcome to being the author one of many blogs I read (that was not weird at all). I can't wait to see what your style is like, and how it will add the the already great site :)
ReplyDeletelol, no need to hide in shame. I haven't really put myself out there. And thank you so much!! I've been smiling none stop since Jen asked met to join. :o)
DeleteThanks for being so welcoming, Sofia! But don't let April fool you...she seems quiet now, but once you get to know her, she's all kinds of crazy...in the best possible way. :)
DeleteHi April! *throws hands in the air* Welcome! I look forward to reading your posts!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! :)
Delete*hugs all around*
DeleteCongratulations, ladies! I don't think I've talked to April before, but I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. If Jen is a fan of yours, then I'm sure we'll get along just fine. :)
ReplyDeleteWendy @ The Midnight Garden
I don't think we've talked either , I am a follower of yours though! :) Even though I hate Wendy Darling with a passion, I don't hold against you. lol.
DeleteSometimes I think you give me too much credit, Wendy, but in this case, you're absolutely right. :) I still can't believe the level of loathing April feels toward Peter Pan, though. :P
DeleteYay! Welcome April!! I'm looking forward to reading your posts, too. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much !!! I'm so excited to get to know everyone! :)
DeleteI'm looking forward to her posts, too, Cait! It's going to be sooo much fun!
DeleteAnd this comment is for you Jen, I cannot thank you enough for letting me join you. I practically bounced out bed this morning. And its a Monday, so that's pretty amazing. :) I look forward to all the fun we are going to have with this. <3 I'm so happy.
ReplyDeleteHa, I had the hardest time falling asleep last night because of it! So, I didn't exactly bounce out of bed, but that also probably had to do with the fact that I didn't have to get up for work either. :) This is going to be amazing!!! I'm looking forward to what you bring to the blog and all the reading I'm going to get done now! :D I'm so glad you're here, April!
DeleteWelcome, April!! How exciting! Congratulations, ladies!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love April's SIMS trailers! I've talked to her a couple times on my personal twitter account and she's great. I had a feeling this was coming because I saw your tweets to each other! So exciting!!!!! Congrats to you both!
ReplyDeleteawwe thank so much. I'm always surprised when people mention they know of them. lol. :)
DeleteHow exciting! Welcome April--I can't wait to read your reviews and get to know you :-)
ReplyDeleteHi April!!! I can't wait to read your posts :D Congrats to y'all!!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading
Jackie
Super awesome! Looking forward to reading your reviews, April!
ReplyDeleteAll my favorite blogs are getting co-bloggers and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Nonetheless, Welcome April.
ReplyDeleteWelcome April! =D
ReplyDeleteWelcome April!
ReplyDeleteWelcome and congrats on finding such a fitting co-blogger :D!
ReplyDeleteSuper-exciting and perfect timing-- you two will be mentioned in my Trends post this week, which is focusing on how bloggers are seeking more life/blog balance...
ReplyDeleteJen @ YA Romantics
I have known April since middle school. Can't wait to read this blog, as I know she is an awesome writer and is well-read. -Staci G
ReplyDeleteThank you so much everyone! I would respond to everyone one by one but then I'd blow up Jens email. :) So happy to be here and I'm overwhelmed by all the support! <3
ReplyDeleteI love those Sims book trailers! I remember dying laughing at the 50 Shades one. Welcome April! Hopefully with two of you you will be able to enjoy blogging more! I could use more help as my time is very lacking this past year but at the same time I don't want to give up control! LOL Maybe someday I'll get a co-blogger.
ReplyDeletebahahah! my one claim to fame. That trailer will follow me to my death no doubt. And thanks for the welcome! I think both Jen and I were hesitant in the whole co blogger thing. I wasn't really actively looking and neither was she. I wasn't willing to blog with a stranger, and i'm sure she didn't want to just let any weirdo have access. We were talking one day and it just happened. We are very compatible, and I don't feel like I'm giving anything up by moving here, and i hope that she doesn't feel she's giving up any control either. It's her blog foremost, and I'm honored she's letting me post on it. I have a good feeling about all of this. I think for some people it wouldn't work, and I honestly don't know if I could blog with anyone else but her. I'm so happy right now.
DeleteHi, April! I wished I had an awesome co-blogger like that too so I'm not left wandering the blogosphere alone. sigh..
ReplyDeleteExciting! Welcome, April! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats Jen and welcome to April!
ReplyDeleteHi, April! So cool that you and Jen will be letting us know what books we should watch out for- and for the record I've never been a Peter Pan fan either. Though I do like the quote- All you need is faith, trust, and pixie dust. Hard not to like that, right? =D
ReplyDeleteWelcome, April! I can't wait to see what you two post!!! =D
ReplyDeleteHey April! Welcome to the blog!
ReplyDeleteI agree, YA IS THE BEST! I think I'm gonna be like you when I get a job - reading at work.
Aw! That's awesome for you both. It's nice to meet you, April. Jen and her blog are one of my most favorites, so you are in great company!
