"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week's WoW selection is...
Author: Suzanne Young
Series: The Program, book #2
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Publication Date: April 29, 2014
Can Sloane and James survive the lies and secrets surrounding them, or will The Program claim them in the end? Find out in this sequel to The Program, which Publishers Weekly called “chilling and suspenseful.”
How do you stop an epidemic?
Sloane and James are on the run after barely surviving the suicide epidemic and The Program. But they’re not out of danger. Huge pieces of their memories are still missing, and although Sloane and James have found their way back to each other, The Program isn’t ready to let them go.
Escaping with a group of troubled rebels, Sloane and James will have to figure out who they can trust, and how to take down The Program. But for as far as they’ve come, there’s still a lot Sloane and James can’t remember. The key to unlocking their past lies with the Treatment—a pill that can bring back forgotten memories, but at a high cost. And there’s only one dose.
Ultimately when the stakes are at their highest, can Sloane and James survive the many lies and secrets surrounding them, or will The Program claim them in the end?
I was hesitant to start yet another dystopian series when I picked up The Program earlier this year, but I was really surprised by it. And it ended up being one my favorite books of the year! It was so suspenseful and unique, and I cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel! Suzanne Young writes some of the best book boyfriends, too! :D
I still need to The Program. I was hesitant to try it as well until I started seeing so many good reviews and had to buy it. Still haven't found the time to read it yet though :-(
ReplyDeleteI haven't read The Program yet but I've been dying to. And I've already requested this on Edelweiss, so if I get accepted I'll begin the series right away!
ReplyDeleteGreat pick :)
My WoW
I haven't picked up a new dystopian series yet and I don't think I will be picking up a new one anytime soon as I'm into fantasy and contemporary lately. Anyway, I'll still add The Program to my TBR for future reference. Thanks for sharing, Jen!

I haven't had the chance to read The Program yet although I've been meaning to. The followup sounds fascinating though so I'll need to get on it. Great choice this week.

The Program is on my list, but I haven't gotten to it yet. When I do, I'll add this to my list.
ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW!

I still need to read The Program, but it does sound like a great read!
ReplyDeleteMy Wow @ So Bookalicious
I have the Program on my TBR list, looks like I have a little bit time to get that in before The Treatment comes out! I love the covers of both books. Great pick, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW at Bookmunchies (:
WANT WANT WANT! NEED NEED NEED! This was my pick last week! I so need to know what happens with Sloane and James.
ReplyDeleteDying for this book. I didn't think of it as a dystopian at all though. It was one of those contemporary dystopians for me where the whole world was normal but this one thing was different. Like Delirium by Lauren Oliver.
ReplyDeleteGreat pick. Hoping to get an Edelweiss approval.
WoW Book
Still haven't read The Program, even though I've heard such great things. Need to soon!

I still need to read The Program although I have it on my Kindle. I have heard good things and hope to get to it soon. I hope you love the sequel as much as the first. Great pick!

ReplyDeleteNo word of a lie, I just commented on a WoW post featuring this book. Lol. Quite popular. :)
