If you're wondering what this giveaway is all about, see my rambling post about the first giveaway in this series.

So, I finally, finally got all of my books organized and re-alphabetized after the influx that I've received over the last few months.  I found some series that I won't ever finish, some books that I bought at one of the Borders going-out-of-business sales that I probably won't get to for a very long time, and some more ARCs that I've either already read or that I'm just not interested in.  In other words, I've added to my giveaway shelf:

Click on the picture to get a better view of what's on my giveaway shelf & what might appear in the MYSTERY BOX.
You know what that means!  Time for another giveaway...just because I need to make room!  =)  So, in order to enter, you MUST comment, telling me the last book that you gifted or just flat out gave someone to read.  Also, feel free to tell me any book from my giveaway shelf that you absolutely hope is NOT in the box.  I want these books to go to a good home, one where they'll actually get read and not collect dust...like they are on my shelves right now.

  1. Usually I am a book hoarder but a few days ago I gave my friend The Summer I Became a Nerd and Parallel. The Summer I Became a Nerd because I didn't really care for it and she adored it, and Parallel because I read it and enjoyed it but didn't think I would read it again. The only ones I see that I'm not interested in are the Hush, Hush books because I've read them so many times, and Until I Die, but the rest look amazing! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  2. I am definitely a book hoarder, I have them stashed throughout the house and my kindle is almost full. The last book I gave away? Witch Fairy books by Bonnie Lamer. Thanks for the giveaway!

  3. I am definitely a hoarder, mostly of books. :) Right now I have two tall stacks of library books. I moved across country recently and left a lot of my books with my little sister and Goodwill. I've been slowly getting back some of my collection.

  4. I am a little bit of both. I love to share so that I can discuss the book with people, but I HATE HATE HATE it when people don't return books to me. That's why I love being able to loan books out on Kindle. They can't steal them :)

  5. I am a book hoarder too! I have given away some books to my neighbors and on my blog recently. To my neighbors I gave Pretty Little Liars 1-8 and on my blog 2 Shelley Coriell books and Constable & Toop. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  7. I'm the biggest book hoarder there is. I don't let people borrow, or even touch my books! I can't help it! They're like my babies! And I think the last book I gave to anyone was Eyes Like Stars to one of my friends because I didn't like it and I figured she might. But that was almost two years ago so...

  9. I'm a little bit of both. I love to share with my family and friends to get them hooked like me. I just hate it when they return them with mystery stains and/or ripped pages or worse don't return them at all.

  10. I think that the last book I gave away way was Starflower by Anne Elisabeth Stengl. I have a hard time giving away books that I love.

  11. I'm a book hoarder, generally, unless I know the person well and know that they'll be good to books.
I'm never lending books to my brother anymore, though. I still haven't gotten ones that I lent him months ago back. Haha.

  12. The Cold Dish! I like to share and make more room here for books.

  13. I am most definitely a book hoarder, although sometimes I'll give my friends some books that I'll never read again. Only on their birthdays though!

I don't want Until I die or Die For Me or Eternity. I would LOVE the Across the Universe trilogy though :o(Oh also not Sweet Venom, since I own a copy.)

  17. I'm a little bit of both! The books that I love, I keep for myself and the some of the ones that didn't blow me away, I usually give away. The last book I gave away was Bad Girls Don't Die by Katie Alender...I hosted a giveaway on my blog and that was the book off of my shelf that the winner chose :)

  20. I selfishly hoard my books, lol. Though once in a while I will share. I gave a schoolmate of mine a tattered copy of Twilight about four years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I do both, though I suppose I am more on the book hoarder side - what if I want to read it again?? :D

    ReplyDelete
  22. I like sharing but I like it better when they return it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am more a hoarder than a giver, but I will share with a select few who will A) return it B) in the condition they got it. I did give away four YA books to my sister in law when she became the YA librarian at her library and would now have to start reviewing, recommending and doing giveaways. The books were signed and she was able to use them as incentives with the kids so I am very proud of myself for not hoarding in that case though it was hard to give up three of them.

As to your giveaway shelf, the books from the Hush, Hush and the Across the Universe series I've already read so definitely not them. Thank you so much for the opportunity.

  24. I am a hoarder! I love to keep all my books but I will occasionally give away a book if I am completely sure that I will never read it again or that I won't read it at all! The last book I gave away was towering!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I gave 50 Shades of grey. It was awesome. I gave them to my best friend. Then I gave them me.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm a hoarder, but I do loan a lot to my sisters. The last book I loaned was Divergent.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The last book I gave to someone was Under the Dome by Stephen King...

  28. I'm both ;). The last book I gave was Joan Swan's BLAZE.

  29. I think both. It just depends on how much I love the book! I love to share books that I loved.

  30. Well, I'm currently running a giveaway for ALTERED, the second book in the Crewel World series. :) I love giving books away, just as much as winning them myself! It's always nice to see the excited email back when you tell someone they've won your giveaway. I love making my peeps happy. =D

  39. I'm a book hoarder, but if I don't like a book, or find one I think a relative will like I will pass it along to them. The last book I gave away was donated to the Friends of the Library, and it was a Simon Van Booy book that made me want to poke my eyes out because of his overabundance of flowery descriptions. So I guess maybe that wasn't the most generous gift, but hopefully it will find a loving home.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I gave a co-worker all of the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlene Harries :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I gave a friend a copy of Joe Hill's NOS4A2. He'd been wanting to read it forever. He isn't a trustworthy borrower (no one is, but he has failed to return books more than once), so I gave him a copy. This way, he can enjoy the wonderful book and keep it forever. Then there are no hard feelings when he loses it or fails to return it. As you can see, I too, am a hopeless book hoarder. I hope I win some of your books to add to my collection. I'm so glad you share; thank you. michelle_willms@yahoo.com

  42. I'm a total book hoarder! I usually keep all of my books but I do lend them out quite a bit and so far I got them all back. I did giveaway a book I had two of to a friend, Next Target by Nikki Arana. Very good book.

  43. The last book I gifted was s igned copy of Unbreakable by Kami Garcia that I picked up at SDCC. I was actually able to get two copies because it sounded like something my BFF would love. I also gave a friend a Mortal Instruments companion book cause I know she loves them and I just bought my nephew some learning to read books for his third birthday.

  44. Oh... I'm a horrible, horrible book hoarder :) I have an entire room filled with books. And I won't even divulge how much is on my Kindle... lol.. makes it much easier to hide the hoard :) But... I do lend out a lot. I don't give but I do lend! Thanks for sharing!

  45. Horder! I share my books with my friends, but I always expect them back in the exact condition they were loaned and I desperately want to own physical copies of any and all books I've enjoyed.

  46. I'm a sharer more than a giver, but the last book I gave to someone was Enclave by Ann Aguirre a couple weeks ago to get them excited about the release of Horde coming up.

If I won, I would prefer paranormal/dystopian genre books, except for the Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm a little bit of both. The last book I gave was to my aunt Bayou Heat it was the first in that series. . We swap books all the time. I also sent a friend a big box of books not to long ago.

  48. I hoard my books but I do lend them out once in a while to friends. I lended a couple of books to my sister's friend recently.
If I won the giveaway, I already own Hush, Hush and Crescendo and Across the Universe so anything else would be awesome! Thank you for the giveaway!

  49. Oh, I am totally a hoarder when it comes to books, though I enjoy sharing as well. I actually have about 6 packages or so sitting in my room for the next time I go to the post office. Yay!

As for books I do or don't want, I had a really hard time seeing the picture, but I could pick out the Revis books (DO WANT!) and the Becca Fitzpatrick books (don't want.) Thanks, Jen!

  50. I am a total book hoarder too, but I do have some bookish friends, so I often choose to give books as gifts. I think the last book I gave was a copy of "Evernight", I had just finished reading it and I wanted to be able to talk about it with a friend (it's just not as much fun if you can't mock plot holes with someone). Unfortunately my friend also has a super long to read list and hasn't gotten to it yet :P

I think the only books on that shelf that I already have are "Destined" and "Crescendo" (please don't ask why I only have book 2 in a series, I have yet to really figure out how that happened myself).

Thanks so much for having the giveaway!

  51. I am a book hoarder. I love to collect books. I picked up a few Nora Roberts books at a thrift store about a month ago and i gave those to my grandma. She is a book hoarder too.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  52. Oh geez, you expect me to give away a BOOK?! I want to keep them all for myself *points at chest* SELFISH I AM. But I did let my sister borrow Insomnia by J.R. Johansson. She liked the cover and read the summary and wanted me read it & tell her what happens. But I said "Why don't you read it yourself?" I'm trying to get my younger siblings into reading and less electronics but it's hard. She hasn't finished it yet but I have hope. Now as far as the "mystery box" I see you have the Hush, Hush series. I want all of them. I read them a while ago but I would love to own them so I can read them again. I will take special care of them. Give you update on their status. Treat them like children. Even take pictures every once in a while. ;) And there is not a book I don't want. I will give everything a shot. So pile them up and send them to momma! Thank you so much for giving another box away. You really can make someone's year by gifting us with books we sometimes can't afford to buy ourselves. Your awesome.

  54. I am a book hoarder. I will only share with two people--one of my best friends and my sister. The last book I gave to someone was The Bride Wore Size 12 by Meg Cabot.

  58. I am a book hoarder, all the way! I cringe at the idea of giving my books away to other people or letting them "borrow" them. But, I am currently attempting to get my younger cousin interested in reading so a lot of my books get given to him in an attempt to make him interested. The last book I tossed at him was Michael Vey by Richard Paul Evans.

  59. I'm both! I love getting books all the time, but I also love to share and give them away too! The last book I gave away to my doctor was The Paleo Manifesto.

  60. Book sharer! I gave Beautiful Stranger to my cousin's fianceé.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  61. I'm a hoarder unless I accidently buy a duplicate. If that's the case I send most of them off to my sister or another friend would love to read them. I recently sent my sister Romancing the Bookworm by Kate Evangelista. Thank you for the amazing giveaway!

  62. I am a terrible book hoarder, but have had to switch to ebooks because it was getting (OK it GOT) to the point where I only had small paths through my apartment due to the stacks and stacks of books. It was SOOO painfully difficult to select only those that could fit into three SMALL bookshelves and then send the others on their way to various places (friends, libraries, hospitals, etc.). I still miss them, though I do appreciate the fact that ebooks usually cost less than their paper counterparts. It allows me to fill up more external hard drives with books!!
It also doesn't help that I am notorious for purchasing books I already own / have read. So I do appreciate Amazon's notice telling me if I have already downloaded a book.
Thanks for such an astounding giveaway. If I won I'd have to read them all and then offer them up for a giveaway again. LOL

    1. Oh right - the last book I gave away. . . a copy of The Last Victim by Karen Robards. Not a 'new' title, but something the other person wanted :-)

When I hoarded paper books I would actually buy three copies of my absolute favorites - a hardcover (first edition if possible), two paperbacks - one for my reading pleasure (I often re-read my books) & one for loaning to others. I, like most of you probably, learned the hard way not to loan out your absolutely favorite books as they tend to grow legs once they've left your possession and you never see them again. :-( So I had my lending library, my personal reading library, and my "collections" library.

  69. I'm a book hoarder. But I did let my cousin borrow City of Bones; I don`t think I could give one away unless I really disliked it.

  70. Hoarder! I'll let close friends borrow books, but that's about it. My friend borrowed TFIOS from me last week; it was hard to give away, but I had to share it with someone!

  72. I am both, but mostly a book hoarder, I think. Hee hee. I share books with friends and family all the time, not to mention giving them away on my blog. It's really hard to part with my books, though. The last book I gifted was the latest Kingdom Keepers book to my Mum. I've gotten her hooked on MG and YA books and that series is one of her favorites right now. Yay! :)

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  73. I shared The Chocolate Touch with my mom.

  74. I do have a gigantic pile of books to read. I'd call myself a book hoarder. But whenever I finish something, I list it up at PaperbackSwap. I have no idea the name of the person I last sent a book to thru PBSwap!

  75. I gave Summer Sisters by Judy Blume to my best friend. One of my faves.

  76. I'm a book hoarder, I only share the books I have duplicates of (or that I no longer want). I shared my paperback of Divergent with my grandma (it was a duplicate).

  77. I'm definitely a bit of both--I hate lending out my books because I'm so obsessive about their conditions, but I like recommending books to other people and sometimes buying them books I think they'll like. I recently bought my mom Between Shades of Gray (one of my favorites), and she LOVED it.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'm a book hoarder, but if I don't enjoy a book I will get rid of it. I don't like when books that I don't like take of my shelf space. I donate my books to the used bookstore by my house and usually get other books. It's a lot like a trade.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I am definitely a book hoarder, but I also just don't have many people around me who read much at all, sadly. I think the last book I gave someone was The Little Train That Could to my nephew, or some political book to my step-dad.

And there are a few books, from what I can tell, in the picture that I hope isn't in the box, were I to win, like the Hush Hush series; as well as several that I already own, like the Die For Me series, and In Too Deep (and maybe the Name of the Star, and Cloaked?).

    Thanks for the giveaway!

    :) Jude

  80. I am a book hoarder for sure! There are people that I wish I could give books to (to borrow anyway, because I can't ever part with my precious books for good) but I'm too afraid they will come back in terrible condition. My friends don't treat books like precious artifacts like I do and they tend to let their books get beat up!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Yes, I am a definite book hoarder. I have books everywhere, and although I should give some books away, I hate parting with them! Sad, but true. I do lend books to people, but I only give a select few away.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'm both! I try to just keep my faves or signed copies but I always keep more... I do share a lot though. I have a friend that trades boxes of books with me so she gets a lot of the ones I can make myself part with. I sent her an ARC of Scarlett that she wanted so it made her very happy! Thanks for the giveaway! All of the books look great.:)

  83. I'm definitely a hoarder. I don't think I've given any books to people! I usually buy books with the intention of giving it, but I just get too attached.

  84. I'm probably more of a hoarder, but I share a lot with my mom. I let her borrow Throne of Glass, The Selection, and a few others I've won in giveaways. Thanks for your giveaway!

  85. Both. I hoard my books, but friends and family are always welcome to borrow a book to read.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I get behind on my reading sometimes and they pile up but I like to share too! I am donating 4 boxes of books or more to my local library soon! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  87. I gave my friend's niece, who's just like a niece to me, my copy of City of Bones, which I hadn't even read yet. I let her borrow it, and she loved it so much I let her keep it and decided to buy myself another copy. I think I'm both a book hoarder and generous with my books. I lend my books out a lot, too. I like being the go-to girl for a book recommendation, plus my friends say they feel like they're at the library when they come over and browse my bookshelves, lol!

    ReplyDelete
  88. I gave my mother THE SCORPIO RACES :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. It depends on the books! I hoard the books I love but I'm happy to donate and give away the books I didn't care for or thought were just okay. I'm also happy to lend books... provided the person isn't a spine breaker! My mom purposely cracks her spines so they lay open better when she multitasks. Bleg.
It was my brother's birthday a few days ago so I got him some of the Dresden Files books.
