Okay, so I totally stole this idea from Sara at Forever 17 Books, who got the idea from an article on Babble called Judging a Book by Its Cover: A 6-year-old Guesses What Classic Novels Are All About. I just discovered her lovely segment, and I immediately
This week, Katie and I collaborated on the following book:
Based on the cover, Katie says, "I think it's about angels that follow humans around. The humans can't see the wings so that the angels can talk to the humans."

Angelfall as envisioned by Katie |
I just re-listened to the audio of Angelfall this week so that I could finally review it, and when Katie asked me what I was listening to, I showed her the physical book on my shelf -- the one I got for $1.75 when Amazon was having a crazy sale on them...I wish I'd thought ahead and bought several copies! Anyway, she thought the wings were pretty and asked if she could color that book cover for me this week. Unfortunately, she was very sleepy the night we worked on it, and I haven't been able to convince her to work on a cover since. *sigh*
It kind of creeps me out the way she talks about "humans" instead of people, but she does spend a lot of time with her Papa, and he's always been a bit...different. He's rubbing off on her. :P Anyway, the creepiness of her statement kind of ties in with the creepy things going on in the book, so I guess it fits. :)
Have you read Angelfall? If so, what do you think of Katie's guess at the premise? Did your little darling create a work of art based on a book this week? If so, be sure to link up with Sara over at Forever 17 Books.
Emily would love this cover because of the wings. I love how she knew that angels had to hide their wings from people. So cute!
ReplyDeleteAww, they are like guardian angels then! She is too smart! <3
ReplyDeleteHow cute! Katie is a very perceptive little girl. And a great artist!
