The Weekend Update - 9.19.15

Saturday, September 19, 2015 with 4 comments
So, since my end-of-the-week post isn't just about what I got in my mailbox or on my Kindle each week -- though that is a big part of it, I won't lie -- I decided to change up the title and intro a bit.  I might tweak the format a bit over the next few weeks, but for the most part, it'll contain the same stuff: stuff I got, stuff I did, and stuff that's coming up on the blog.  Plus, I get to use the awesome GIF you see here and blow kisses to all the people who sent me lovely books and bookish things.  Oh, and I've started linking up to Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews since I'm not using a specific meme title anymore.  April's also doing her own Stacking the Shelves posts on Sundays.  Stop by and say hi!  =)
So, I've been bitching and moaning a lot lately about how much work sucks and I've got so much going on and yada, yada, yada. But things took a turn for the better this week, and I'm actually in a pretty freakin' good mood this weekend. =)

I don't want to jinx myself or anything, but the house is pretty much a done deal. I mean, the closing is a couple of weeks out, but it all looks pretty good for us. Which is just so flipping exciting! It's been a pretty frustrating experience, to say the least -- and a pretty expensive endeavor all the way around -- but it's going to be so worth it in the end. I'll be spending every spare moment packing until then, but I'm one of those weird people who actually likes packing and moving. Well, except for the physical exertion part of it, maybe, which is why we call in the brother-in-law. :D But I just love the catharsis a good move brings about, ya know?

And work is decidedly a little less sucky this week. Not anywhere near the way it used to be when I actually liked working there, but it's a definite improvement. And it's the little things that count. I'm just going to accept this job for what it is until I can figure out what it is I really want to be doing.

Oh, you know what else has me in such a fantastic state of mind? Supernatural...that's what. I've watched an episode here and there over the years, and it was good, but I always had too many other shows going or something...I don't really know why I never made time for it. But those Winchester boys could make any girl feel better, and that's just what they've done. ;0) I'm currently at the beginning of season 2, and I've even got my hubby watching with me now.

Over the weekend, I'll likely be sharing images on Instagram of my favorite room being packed up because that just seems like the easiest and best place to start. Because I don't know if I mentioned this already, but this house has a separate reading nook off the living area in addition to the home office! So freaking excited. This is going to be a great new adventure in our lives...I can just feel it!

  2. So glad to hear that Great & Terrible Beauty has been as great as you remember it being! I plan on doing a reread within the next few months and have been nervous it won't be as good as I thought it was back in the day haha.
