So, since my end-of-the-week post isn't just about what I got in my mailbox or on my Kindle each week -- though that is a big part of it, I won't lie -- I decided to change up the title and intro a bit. I might tweak the format a bit over the next few weeks, but for the most part, it'll contain the same stuff: stuff I got, stuff I did, and stuff that's coming up on the blog. Plus, I get to use the awesome GIF you see here and blow kisses to all the people who sent me lovely books and bookish things. Oh, and I've started linking up to Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews since I'm not using a specific meme title anymore. April's also doing her own Stacking the Shelves posts on Sundays. Stop by and say hi! =)I'm baaaaaaack! :)
Vacation was awesome...just what I needed. I wish we'd had more time but that's how it goes. I'm sure we'll be able to fit in a short trip this summer. At any rate, I didn't get much reading done at ALL while I was away, but I'm ready to get back on that horse again. I think my slump is officially over. :D
Anyway, here's what I scored this week, and keep in mind that it's two weeks worth of books since I wasn't here last Saturday to post my usual update:
For Review:
Daughter of Dusk by Livia Blackburne
The Devil You Know by Trish Doller - Lovelovelove this author!!!
Illusionarium by Heather Dixon - Entwined is still one of my favorite fairy tale retellings...can't wait to read more from this author!
The Fill-in Boyfriend by Kasie West - Kasie could write the nutrition facts on the cereal box and I'd still want to read them. :)
End of Days by Susan Ee - Omigod!!! The epicness knows no bounds. Time for a re-listen…I think it's only been a couple of months since my last listen, but you can never have too much Penryn-Raffe banter. =)
Gifted/Traded:
Nothing this week...
Library:
The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows - This sounds phenomenal but I'm seriously anxious about that cliffhanger I've heard a bunch of squawking about. *bites nails*
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven - I wasn't going to read or listen to this, but the audio was available and I kept hearing about this Finch character. It was worth it, even if it made me ugly cry. :( [review]
Purchased:
I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson - This was an Audible Daily Deal while I was out, but I just happened to check my email at the right time. I loved this in print, and I'm sure it's amazing on audio.
Under Different Stars by Amy A. Bartol - I've heard so many bloggers talking about this one...I finally had to check it out myself. And it was awesome. Can't wait for the sequel at the end of this month!
Flat-Out Celeste by Jessica Park - Loved Flat-Out Love and adored Celeste as a minor character in that story. I probably actually have the ebook for this, but I saw it on Audible for $2 and couldn't pass it up.
So, that's my haul. :) How about you? What did you get this week?
The Week in Review:
Reviews:
- Jackaby - Jen (audio)
- Shadow Scale - Jen
Win a copy of SHADOW SCALE!
Win a mystery box of books!
Promotional/Discussion Posts:

Jen's Currently Reading/Listening To:
This is my 4th listen of this audiobook. That should tell you how much I enjoy it. And Valek. ;0) The author is releasing another three books in this series now, so I thought it time to refresh my memory once again. =)

Needed something cute and quirky after listening to All the Bright Places. Probably not the best idea to read a book that begins with the anniversary of a death, but it doesn't seem all that sad so far. And I loved Open Road Summer by this author.

I've seen All The Bright Places around so much but I still haven't gotten around to reading it. I really have to, since everyone I know seems to love it. I hadn't heard about the cliffhanger in The Orphan Queen, but I should probably keep that in mind when I start it soon! The Fill In Boyfriend has an amazing cover, I want it now. *grabby hands* Great haul, enjoy your books!

I read End of Days this week. I can't wait for you to read it so we can talk it over. I'm so sad the series is over. I should do a reread of the entire thing now that I have all three books. I already miss Penryn and Raffe. I'm very curious about Daughter of Dusk
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, having so many amazing books in one place at any given time should really be outlawed :D
