In My Mailbox #44

Saturday, August 18, 2012 with 12 comments

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.  It's a weekly meme where we all get to brag about the books and swag we got in the mail, for review, won in contests, etc.

What the what?!?  I didn't purchase any books this week?  Wow, I've managed to impress even myself with that!  But that's not to say that I didn't get anything.  [insert devious laughter here]

For Review:

Burn Bright by Marianne de Pierres - book tour hosted by Refracted Light Reviews
What's Left of Me by Kat Zhang
Necromancing the Stone by Lish McBride
The Archived sneak peek by Victoria Schwab
Undeadly by Michele Vail
Shadows by Ilsa J. Bick

Special thanks to Dani at Refracted Light Reviews, HarperTeen, Macmillan, Disney-Hyperion, HarlequinTeen, and Egmont USA for the review copies!

Those are some super-exciting reads right there!  A couple of sequels that I've been dying to get my hands on.  Several new worlds to check out and fall prey to.  I'd better go get started on them!  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and that you got lots of goodies this week!

The Week in Review:

The Summer Wrap-up Read-a-thon wrapped up on Sunday, and I posted my final recap and tally...6 books read!  Yay!

On Tuesday, I teased you with a few creepy lines from Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Fama.  Look for my review soon.  (I do so love creepy teasers!)

After Jennifer at Some Like It Paranormal teased me with Unravel Me on Tuesday, of course I had to start the countdown to the book's release with my Waiting on Wednesday post.  At least I get a peek at Warner in Destroy Me soon!

Apparently, Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris is pretty awesome.  I wouldn't know it, though, because it's been sitting on my review pile since before it's release!

The Last Days of Freedom Giveaway Hop kicked off on Friday.  I'm giving away a finished copy of Rapture!  The giveaway ends on 8/22, so be sure to enter soon!

On Friday, I had the pleasure of revealing the cover to Devri Walls' second book in the Solus trilogy.  I loved Wings of Arian and would recommend this series to any fantasy-lover!

I also reviewed Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan on Friday.  This book has got to be one of my very favorite reads so far this year.  Trust me.  You WANT to read it.

The Week Ahead:

Lots of reviews!  I'm trying to catch up after participating in the Summer Wrap-up Read-a-thon and I haven't reviewed any of those titles yet!  o.O

My stop on the Inbetween Blog Tour is on Friday.  I'll have a review and excerpt for you.

I'll also be participating in the Feed Your Reader (Ebook only) Giveaway Hop, which starts mid-week.  Check back on Wednesday afternoon to see what I'm giving away and enter for your chance to win!

  7. Oooh, I have Shadows and What's Left of Me too. Very excited for those!

Have heard good things about Monstrous Beauty. I'm not usually a huge fan of things mermaid, but I'm listening to Liex Beneath on audio and really loving it. Maybe 2012 is my Year of the Mermaid!

    1. Oh, I have Lies Beneath, too, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Is the audio good? And I think 2012 is the Year of the Mermaid, period. Sooo many merpeople in the books this year...must be something in the water...lol.
