In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. It's a weekly meme where we all get to brag about the books and swag we got in the mail, for review, won in contests, etc.
Confession time: When I started this post earlier in the week, I only had a couple of Netgalley titles to show for my efforts, but then as the week went along, I found myself with quite a few spoils. Of course, part of that has something to do with the most awesome boss ever. He let his favorite employee (yours truly) off work early on Friday, and I promptly headed for the bookstore near my office. I only intended to pick up a couple of things for a friend's birthday, but...well, you know how that goes, I'm sure. Behold, the fruits of my labors:
For Review:
The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa -- *sigh* I can't wait to read Ethan's story!!!
The Demon Catchers of Milan by Kat Beyer
Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake
Ironskin by Tina Connolly
(Thanks to Netgalley, Harlequin Teen, Egmont, and Tor Teen/Macmillan for the above-mentioned review copies!)
Purchased:
Embrace by Jessica Shirvington -- $2.99 for Nook & Kindle
Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson
From What I Remember by Stacy Kramer & Valerie Thomas
A Midsummer's Nightmare by Kody Keplinger
The Week in Review:
On Tuesday, I teased you with a snippet from Inbetween by Tara Fuller.
Wednesday brought about my love for Libba Bray and her new series, The Diviners, which I scored a copy of in a Twitter contest this week, as well. Can't wait till that baby arrives...I'm dropping everything else to start it. So, only a little more waiting necessary! :D
The Peculiars has been on my reading list for awhile -- ever since ALA Midwinter -- but I wanted to remind myself that it's still on my shelf and get your take on it if you've already had a chance to read it.
On Friday, I introduced you to my main squeeze, Dante Walker. But only us cool kids can get to know him better before Wednesday...then he's unleashed on the massees. That's right, I've got your password only access to his new site.
My bookshelves obviously need an overhaul, so I'm particpating in the Summer Wrap-up Read-a-thon. Yep. As many books as I can possibly fit into the next nine days.
The Week Ahead:
I'll finally let you in on why you need to read Hold Me Closer, Necromancer so that you can be appropriately excited about Necromancing the Stone. (If the titles of these books alone isn't enough to pique your interest, I don't know what else is.)
Jack from The Treachery of Beautiful Things stops by on Thursday to tell us about his experiences in the Faerie Realm. I'll also be reviewing this hauntingly beautiful novel on my stop of the blog tour.
And I'm hoping to gather my thoughts enough to review The Golden Lily and Spell Bound for you, but with that read-a-thon, I'm not making any promises. :P
I am super jealous of The Lost Prince, Girl of Nightmares and Ironskin. I cannot wait to read all of those. Nice haul! Happy reading!
