In My Mailbox #43

Saturday, August 11, 2012 with 10 comments

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.  It's a weekly meme where we all get to brag about the books and swag we got in the mail, for review, won in contests, etc.

If I wasn't working this week, I was reading.  And so that left little time to peruse Netgalley or request review copies or add anything to my B&N cart.  But I did win a couple of things and was gifted with some swag.  And I couldn't help purchasing a few audiobooks to help my read-a-thon efforts, so I do have a little something to show you.  Oh, yeah, and I bought a couple of pretties for my shelf, even though I've already read them.  o.O

Won:

Drain You by M. Beth Bloom - won an ARC from Jen at YA Romantics in her July comments contest
Rapture by Lauren Kate - won a signed copy from Jessica at Hackaroo's Reviews (and since I don't need two copies, look for a giveaway soon!)
a jumbo Remembrance bookmark signed by Michelle Madow
signed swag from Jeri Smith-Ready in thanks for my support of #TeamKilt in the YA Crush Tourney

Purchased:

The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead, audiobook, 4/5 stars - review soon
Fever by Lauren DeStefano, audiobook, 4/5 stars - review soon
The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson, audiobook, 5/5 stars, review soon
Seraphina by Rachel Hartman, audiobook, currently listening
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas - review - also, check out my giveaway
Enclave by Ann Aguirre - review - need to skim so I'm ready for that ARC of Outpost!  :D

The Week in Review:

On Tuesday, I teased you with a few creepy lines from Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake.  Look for my review soon.

Tuesday also brought you the chance to win your own copy of Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas in the Young Adult Giveaway Hop.  Check out my review of that phenomenal book here.

After finishing up the audio for The Golden Lily last week as part of the Summer Wrap-up Read-a-thon, I was left desperately waiting for The Indigo Spell.  Gotta admit, though, it helps that Adrian won the 2nd Annual YA Crush Tourney!  :D

I had the pleasure of reading an advance copy of The Treachery of Beautiful Things this month, and you can find my FIVE star review here.

On Thursday, my unexpected love for contemporaries rears its head again.  Now I just have to find time to read Take a Bow, which has been sitting on my review pile for awhile.

The Treachery of Beautiful Things Blog Tour stopped by on Thursday and I had the immense pleasure of interviewing Jack, one of the main characters.  He's mysterious and aloof and, well, you'll see.  :P  Oh, and there's a giveaway along with that interview, so be sure to check it out!

The Week Ahead:

Lots of reviews!  I've been participating in the Summer Wrap-up Read-a-thon and I haven't reviewed any of those titles yet!  o.O

The Summer Wrap-up Read-a-thon ends on 8/12, so I'll be posting a recap highlighting everything I was able to finish and some initial thoughts.

I'll also be participating in the Last Days of Freedom Giveaway Hop, which starts at the end of the week.  Check back on Thursday afternoon to see what I'm giving away and enter for your chance to win!
