So, since my end-of-the-week post isn't just about what I got in my mailbox or on my Kindle each week -- though that is a big part of it, I won't lie -- I decided to change up the title and intro a bit. I might tweak the format a bit over the next few weeks, but for the most part, it'll contain the same stuff: stuff I got, stuff I did, and stuff that's coming up on the blog. Plus, I get to use the awesome GIF you see here and blow kisses to all the people who sent me lovely books and bookish things. Oh, and I've started linking up to Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews since I'm not using a specific meme title anymore. April's also doing her own Stacking the Shelves posts on Sundays. Stop by and say hi! =)Jerrod is up in Oklahoma today checking out a potential new deer lease, so Katie and I are making the most of his absence by making a girls' day out of it. We plan to do our nails, see a movie (maybe Into the Woods?), and grab some lunch. Oh, and of course, get some reading in. It's going to be a gorgeous spring-like weekend here in North Texas, so we'll probably be outside as much as possible. =D
Anyway, I had another great week as far as book-acquiring goes. Here's what I scored this week:
The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler - thanks to Simon & Schuster for the galley!!!
Kissing Ted Callahan (and Other Guys) by Amy Spalding - thanks to Little, Brown for the galley!!!
Hold Me Like a Breath by Tiffany Schmidt - thanks to Bloomsbury for the ARC!!!!
Joyride by Anna Banks - thanks to Macmillan for the ARC!!
Shadow Scale by Rachel Hartman - thanks to Penguin/Random House for the ARC!!
Half Bad by Sally Green - promotional gift from Big Honcho Media
The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall - audiobook (review)
Time Between Us and Time After Time by Tamara Ireland Stone
So, that's my haul. :) How about you? What did you get this week?
The Week in Review:
- #Tuck40th - 40 Days for 40 Years: Tuck Everlasting Blog Tour asks What if you could live forever?
- The #TopTen books we're hoping our daughters love as much as we do
- #WoW - This week, we're waiting on All the Rage & Hello, I Love You
- A Year of Awesome, in which April celebrates her first year here at The Starry-Eyed Revue :)
- That Time My Husband Asked If I Was in the Middle of a Book
I should've read this one the moment I had it in my hands, but I knew I'd want to talk about it immediately, so I held off. Luckily, no one's spoiled it for me yet. I recently re-listened to The Winner's Curse, so I am as prepared and ready for this sequel as I possibly could be. But it's probably still not enough. :P
I've had this duology on my TBR for some time now, but I have a love/hate relationship with time travel storylines because of their tendency to either be too easily explained away or too confusing. But I'm loving this one so far!
