In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. It's a weekly meme where we all get to brag about the books and swag we got in the mail, for review, won in contests, etc.
And I was doing so well. :P Here's what I got in my mailbox this week...
For Review:
click on covers to be taken to the Goodreads page for each book
Rebel Springs by Morgan Rhodes (Michelle Rowen) - The first book was a pretty good introduction to this fantasy world, and I can't wait to start on this sequel. Thanks for the ARC, Penguin!
Snakeroot by Andrea Cremer - Um, I guess this means I finally need to cave and read Bloodrose? Yeah, someone spoiled the ending for me on Goodreads, so I never read it, even though I pre-ordered the HC. Grrr. But since this is a continuation of that series, I guess it's time. Thanks for the (unsolicited) ARC, Penguin!
Purchased/Audiobooks:

The King's Guard by Rae Carson - HECTOR!!! I love this series, and even though it's over, I don't want it to be. So, I'm going to read Hector's prequel novella. Probably multiple times. ;0)
Shut Out by Kody Keplinger - This is only $2.99 right now on Amazon and B&N! And if you get the Kindle ebook, you can get the audio from Audible for $3.49! That means you can get both copies for less than the cost of the paperback!!! I've never read a novel by this author before, but I saw somewhere recently that there is hott library steaminess in this book, and well, being the bibliophile I am, I've just got to check that out. =)
The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon - I've seen the hype, but I've avoided really reading anything about this one for the most part. I rarely pre-order audiobooks, but this seemed like one of those times that I should.
Won/Gifted/Borrowed:

Haze by Paula Weston - I absolutely LOVED Shadows so when Lauren from Love is Not a Triangle offered to let me borrow her copy of Haze -- which she had to order from Fishpond since it's not out in the US until this time next year -- I couldn't say no, even though I tried to at first. :P My reading schedule is pretty full right now, but the more I thought about it, the more I knew Iwanted needed to make room for this book.
Blind Study by Jacquelyn Sylvan - ebook gifted by the author for helping with the cover reveal
So, that's my haul. How about you? What did you get this week?

So excited to read Haze, especially after seeing how much Lauren loved it! And how excited she is for my updates. =)
I've avoided as much of the hype as I can for this book, which has been very hard. But I'm only a little ways into the story, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to love it. So there's that. ;0)

Great haul. So jealous you got Snakeroot :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Awesome haul :) I'm very curious about The Bone Season! And I love these covers for Paula Weston's series. One of the reasons why I haven't bought the first book yet is that I couldn't get it in that edition. I'll have to go check again because it sounds so good!

I've been seeing lots of The Bone Season around this week. I think I'll have to check it out myself! :D Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteRebel Spring!!!! Can't wait for that one!!! Loved Shut Out!!!!! Really curious about The Bone Season. Didn't sound exactly like my kind of thing but everyone seems to be enjoying it. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI want to read Rebel Spring! I can't get my hands on a copy. I can't wait to hear your thoughts about it. Happy to hear you are liking The Bone Season so far.
ReplyDeleteI picked up Shadows last night--I've heard so many wonderful things about it. I'm excited to join in the love. Then I will be desperate for Haze I'm sure.

So glad that you are reading haze, it was really awesome, Paula Weston is such a fantastic author. I hope you enjoy it, I am sure you will since you loved Shadows. Happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard good things about Shut Out. I'd probably like it. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, RIGHT?! Bloodrose was a book that I was so excited for and then I read a spoiler on accident. There should seriously be a filter or something when it comes to Goodreads updates that spoil. Or I just need to learn how to stop reading.
ReplyDeleteAnd then Shut Out!! I just read that one this week, and there is a library scene, and it's kind of great!
Hope you enjoy all of your books.

I almost read Shut Out from the library, but never got time before it had to be sent back! Now I know from you saying it has library steaminess, I have to. Maybe audiobook time for it ;) Great haul!
