"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's WoW selections are...

's Pick:

Title: Winter
Author: Marissa Meyer
Series: The Lunar Chronicles #4
Publisher: Feiwel & Friends
Publication Date: November 10, 2015

Add to Goodreads
Here is the stunning conclusion to the national bestselling Lunar Chronicles, inspired by Snow White.

When Princess Winter was thirteen, the rumor around the Lunar court was that her glamour would soon be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana. In a fit of jealousy, Levana disfigured Winter. Four years later, Winter has sworn off the use of her glamour altogether. Despite her scars, Winter’s natural beauty, her grace, and her gentleness are winning admiration from the Lunar people that no amount of mind-control could achieve.

Winter despises her stepmother, but has never dreamed of standing up to her. That is, until she realizes that she may be the only one with the power to confront the queen.

Can Cinder, Prince Kai, Scarlet, Wolf, Cress, Thorne, Princess Winter, and the palace guard Jacin find their happily ever afters? Fans will LOVE this amazing conclusion to the series.
I blame Jen for getting me hooked on these books. They are amazing, and I'm dying to get my hands on Winter. Especially after reading Fairest a few weeks ago. :) And that cover... LOVE

's Pick:

Title: The Immortal Heights
Author: Sherry Thomas
Series: The Elemental Trilogy, book #3
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Publication Date: October 13, 2015

Add to Goodreads
In a pursuit that has spanned continents, Iolanthe, Titus, and their friends have always managed to remain one step ahead of the forces of Atlantis. But now the Bane, the monstrous tyrant who bestrides the entire mage world, has issued his ultimatum: Titus must hand over Iolanthe, or watch as his entire realm is destroyed in a deadly rampage. Running out of time and options, Iolanthe and Titus must act decisively to deliver a final blow to the Bane, ending his reign of terror for good.

However, getting to the Bane means accomplishing the impossible—finding a way to infiltrate his crypt in the deepest recesses of the most ferociously guarded fortress in Atlantis. And everything is only made more difficult when new prophecies come to light, foretelling a doomed effort....

Iolanthe and Titus will put their love and their lives on the line. But will it be enough?

With The Immortal Heights, Sherry Thomas brings the acclaimed Elemental Trilogy to its breathtaking conclusion.
I was super impressed with the sequel to The Burning Sky...I think I may have enjoyed it even more than the first book. So, it will be with some trepidation and some seriously high expectations that I embark on this final installment of the Elemental Trilogy. Still, I know Sherry Thomas can pull it off. The way she made me fall for Iolanthe and Titus again and again in The Perilous Sea, and the adventure they've embarked upon together...it's, well, impressive. ;0) I can't wait to read how their story ends!

Top Ten Tuesday: Our Winter Must-Reads

Tuesday, November 25, 2014 with 10 comments

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome ladies at The Broke and the Bookish. Apparently, they are overly fond of list-making and love to share their bookish lists with the rest of us book nerds.  =) We're game.

This week's topic is the Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR.

April's Picks:

These five books are me books. Golden Son and The Ruby Circle both come out early 2015 and I will be pouncing on them. They are drop everything kind of books. Well, drop everything as in, other books, not real life responsibilities unfortunately. Jellicoe Road and Outlander, I own the audio for as well as kindle, so I'm really hoping to get to those this winter. And The Winners Curse, it's been recommended to me by everyone and their mother. So I am really looking forward to it. :)

These are the top five arcs I'm looking forward to reading. I've kinda thrown the whole "keeping up with my arcs" motto out the window the end of this year. Mood reading will do that, but these five, they are calling to me, so hopefully I'll get to them soon. :)

Jen's Picks:

I split my top ten into two categories because I'm a mood reader and I need options. =) The first group is contemporary reads. Most of these I've had copies of for weeks now, and I'm not sure how I've managed to keep from reading them yet because they sound so good. And I've really been in the mood for contemporary reads lately, which is so funny to me because up until a couple of years ago -- maybe even last year? -- I hardly read realistic fiction. Go figure...now I love it!

And these are the fantastical tales I'll be reading this winter, for sure. Again, I can't believe that most of these have just been occupying space on my shelf or on my Kindle, that I didn't start reading them the second I got my hands on them.

I don't think I could pick the one that I'm most looking forward to because they are all going to be amazing reads...I just know it!

What books are tops on your Winter TBR? :) Be sure to share a link to your TTT post so we can visit!

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome ladies at The Broke and the Bookish.  Apparently, they are overly fond of list-making and love to share their bookish lists with the rest of us book nerds.  =)  I'm game.

This week's list features the Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

Well, I'm already half-way through The Unbound which was at the top of my pile, so I'm already doing okay, I think.  But here are some others that must be read this winter if I'm to have any hopes of keeping up with the review pile:

Cruel BeautyInto the Still Blue (Under the Never Sky, #3)Secret (Elemental, #4)Cress (Lunar Chronicles, #3)Vengeance

Cruel Beauty - I love a good Beauty & the Beast retelling
Into the Still Blue - I can't go on much longer without reading the epic conclusion to one of my favorite series!
Secret - I love the author and I can't wait to read Nick's story in full, but did they have to change the covers so drastically?
Cress - I don't know what the hold-up is on this one, other than I'm just adding to my own anticipation.
Vengeance - The sequel that wasn't is!  I need to read from Decker's POV like I need to breathe!!!

Bright Before SunriseThis Side of SalvationDon't Look BackThe Falconer (The Falconer, #1)The Lovely and the Lost

Bright Before Sunrise - Loved Schmidt's debut, and this one sounds equally as cute.  I don't think I can go wrong with Bloomsbury these days!
This Side of Salvation - Been of fan of this author's from the moment I discovered her Shade series, and I can't wait to read this newest novel!
Don't Look Back - Don't laugh, but this will actually be my first JLA novel.  But it sounds really good.
The Falconer - I just got approved for this on EW, but it. Is. A. Must.
The Lovely and the Lost - Need more gargoyles.  Stat.

I have more than these on my "schedule", but these are a priority, a must, a "I will murder you if you don't let me read" kind of books.  Okay, I wouldn't *really* murder anyone, but you know the feeling I'm talking about.  These books must be read at all costs.  There are many, many more on my TBR, and I don't know why I keep requesting more, but at least I'm not lacking for anything to read, and I always have something for whatever mood I'm in.  =)

Are any of these on your winter TBR?

Christmas Books Giveaway Hop

Friday, November 30, 2012 with 64 comments

Welcome to my stop on the Christmas Books Giveaway Hop, hosted by I Am a Reader, Not a Writer and Laurie Here.  It's the season for giving and boy, am I in the mood to do some giving!  And I want to show everyone the love, so I'm picking TWO winners this time around:  one US and one INTERNATIONAL!

Here's what's up for grabs:

Title: Let it Snow:  Three Holiday Romances
Author: John Green, Maureen Johnson & Lauren Myracle
Series: n/a
Publisher: Penguin Group (USA)
Publication Date: October 2, 2008

Sparkling white snowdrifts, beautiful presents wrapped in ribbons, and multicolored lights glittering in the night through the falling snow. A Christmas Eve snowstorm transforms one small town into a romantic haven, the kind you see only in movies. Well, kinda. After all, a cold and wet hike from a stranded train through the middle of nowhere would not normally end with a delicious kiss from a charming stranger. And no one would think that a trip to the Waffle House through four feet of snow would lead to love with an old friend. Or that the way back to true love begins with a painfully early morning shift at Starbucks. Thanks to three of today's bestselling teen authors--John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle--the magic of the holidays shines on these hilarious and charming interconnected tales of love, romance, and breathtaking kisses.

Eeeek!  A book featuring three romantical stories set in winter from three great authors!?!  You know you want it!  I already snagged a copy for myself and can't wait to curl up with it!
