A Full Year of Awesome!

Friday, January 23, 2015 with 3 comments
Can you Believe It's Been A Year Already?!

Last year was was feeling pretty bleh about blogging. I was emailing back and forth with Jen about it, because we were both kind of feeling the same way. That weekend I went to Disney On Ice with my family and I got an email from Jen asking me if I wanted to join The Starry Eyed Revue. I was so freaking excited. This past weekend we were at Disney on Ice, and I thought, omg... has it been a year already!!!

Ariel!

Indeed it had been. At least close enough to it. That Monday we made it official with this post.

A New Starry Eyed Reviewer

This past year has been wonderful. I've grown to love blogging again, though Jen and I both still feel the pressure sometimes. It's never been enough to make me want to quit.

I've gotten to know all of you so much over the past year, and though I don't comment much lately, I still lurk around when I have a free moment.

I just want to thank you all for embracing me here. It's been amazing. <3

I hope for many more years to come..

What We're Thankful For

Thursday, November 27, 2014 with 3 comments

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! In light of the festivities and spending time with loved ones, we thought we'd share what we're grateful for this year real quick and get back to the food before it's all gone. =)

Obviously, we're thankful for the food in our bellies.

And friends and family to share it with.

Also, those friends who keep us humble.

And, of course, having jobs to make it all possible.

But we thought we'd each share a few of the bookish things we're thankful for, too:

Of course, we're also thankful to all of you who keep stopping by to read our posts! We appreciate each and every one of you! Mwah! What are you thankful for this holiday season?

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday, even if you're not celebrating Turkey Day today! :D

TGIF #17 - Giving Thanks

Friday, November 18, 2011 with 10 comments

TGIF is hosted by Ginger at GReads!  In this weekly feature, Ginger poses a question to her followers and then asks everyone to link up at the end of the post, sharing their responses.

This Friday's Question:

Giving Thanks: Which books are you most thankful for receiving from other bloggers, friends, family members, or publishers?

Well, first off, I have to give proper thanks to the book gods over at HarperTeen/Pitch Dark Books, since I won seven -- yes, seven -- ARCs/books from their Dark Days of Supernatural promotion earlier this year, including one of my favorite books of this year (and possibly ever), Divergent by Veronica Roth. I'm actually doing a re-read of this book right now, just because I missed it so. :)
Sweet Venom (Medusa Girls #1)

And then, of course, I have to thank the ladies at Good Choice Reading for all of the ARC tours they let me be a part of this year:  Fury by Elizabeth Miles, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins, and Legend by Marie Lu.  I love that those ladies are so willing to share their good fortune and spread the word about such awesome books in the process.  I'd also like to thank Damaris over at GCR for sending me her extra copy of Sweet Venom by Tera Lynn Childs.

Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1)And last, but definitely not least, I'd like to thank the bestest book soulmate ever, Michele at A Belle's Tales, for lending me her copy of Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl.  I'm not so much thankful for the book as I am for the friendship it represents.  Michele has easily become my most favorite thing about book blogging, and I can't imagine what life would be like having never made her acquaintance.  I have a feeling this is only the beginning to a beautiful friendship, a lot (and I mean A LOT) of book swapping, and most importantly, endless fictional crushes.  (Chele also sent me some other goodies, but I don't have pictures of those yet.  Plus, I don't want to make you jealous. :P)

I also want to say thanks to all of my readers and fellow book lovers.  You guys make my heart happy!  :)

Thanks & Sorry

Wednesday, October 5, 2011 with No comments

Hey, guys.  First off, I want to say THANK YOU to all who entered the Banned Books Week Giveaway and to all my new followers.  You guys are awesome!  I appreciate each and everyone of you!

Secondly, sorry for my absence on the internets lately, here on the blog especially, but also on Goodreads, Twitter, etc.  My office moved on the 23rd and then my little family moved from our crime-riddled apartment community to a house out in the "country" the very next weekend.  And since the move, I've been without internet access.  Bleh.  The guy from AT&T is supposed to come check out the problem today, though, so hopefully I'll be back in business soon.  In the meantime, I'll try to post my review of Legend by Marie Lu today from the office, work permitting.  :)

For now, I leave you with my new and improved views:

The view from my new corner office.  Yep, that's Dallas.  :)

And my backyard...my new favorite reading spot.  :) :) :)
