Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome ladies at The Broke and the Bookish. Apparently, they are overly fond of list-making and love to share their bookish lists with the rest of us book nerds. =) We're game.
This week's list features the Top Ten Book Covers I'd Frame As Pieces of Art:
April's picks:
This TTT is both hard and easy at the same time. Because there are just so many beautiful covers out there, how do you even begin to narrow it down. I'm a bit of a romantic, so the covers for Bright Before Sunrise, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, Moonglass, and What I Thought Was True stole my heart. Especially What I Thought Was True, I mean just look at it. It's gorgeous. It also helps that these couples are posed in pretty places. Anna Dressed in Blood is so creepy but beautiful. I would so hang that up in the fall just in time for our Halloween Party. The Kiss of Deception I love. I haven't read it yet, but the cover is so pretty. It makes me think of princess's in foreign lands. The cover for Exiled caught my eye years ago and Ashes to Ashes kinda looks like a girl about to off herself, but what a pretty setting to do it in! Not a Drop To Drink is a bit desolate looking, but the colors are gorgeous, and Second Chance Summer reminds me of home. As it should since it takes place in my area.
There are so many other I could have added. If I could, I would have ALL the covers on my wall.
Jen's picks:
1. Arclight by Josin L. McQuein - the sequel is pretty, too
2. Plus One by Elizabeth Fama - the moment the cover was revealed for this one, I began coveting it
3. Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge - the rose, the stairs, the dress
4. Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill - this one just makes me happy
5. Love in the Time of Global Warming by Francesca Lia Block - I loved this one even before I knew what the book was about
6. The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson - gorgeous cover to go along with the gorgeous story
7. The Beautiful and the Cursed by Page Morgan - swooning lady, Eiffel Tower, creepy gargoyle eye in the corner...très impressive
8. Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan - I much prefer the old cut-out cover to the newer covers :(
9. For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund - I love splashes of stars on book covers
10. Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke - I love the gothic appeal of this cover
11. These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Meghan Spooner - I actually already have a poster of this book cover on my wall -- and it's signed by the authors! -- so I had to include it :D
Other contenders for wall space in my house:

ReplyDeleteI love these picks! I agree about Jen's pick for Sarah Reese Brennan's 'Unspoken', the cut out version is MUCH better! Also, I hadn't seen 'Love In The Time Of Global Warming's' cover before but it is beautiful! as for April's picks I would totally agree with Anna Dressed In Blood, something about that cover always gives me the chills!

Ohhh YES. I've got The Winner's Curse on mine, but I totally ran out of room. There are just SO many beautiful covers out there! I'm totally agree with you on These Broken Stars and Anna Dressed in Blood. I think sci-fi covers almost always win, though. Just all those gorgeous stars...loooove.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT!
So many great covers. I'm glad to see Exiled included. That entire series has beautiful covers. I have a book cover that I'd love to share but can never remember the darn title. It is one of the best I've ever seen though. For books I can actually recall though I'd have to say The School for Good and Evil,The Night Circus, Sisters Red, The entire Shatter Me Series as well as all the new Harry Potter covers and oo Paper Valentine and that's just a handful of those I think worthy for a wall lol.
ReplyDeleteI still absolutely love that Anna Dressed in Blood cover. Like seriously. So pretty and creepy. Arclight and the sequel Meridian would definitely have made my list too. I just love them. And the Plus One cover too. It's like pretty artwork and it fit the book too!
ReplyDeleteI chose Unspoken as well. I love that cover! I'm still mad they redesigned it. And I almost chose These Broken Stars, Meant to Be, and Not a Drop to Drink! They're all so great! I'm mad I forgot The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight. That's one of my favorite covers!
ReplyDeleteKiss of Deception is so beautiful and OMG, Anna Dressed in Blood GORG! That one would of definitely made my list but I was only adding book covers from my list of "read" books. Great list of books ladies!!!
