The Weekend Update - 9.20.14

So, since my end-of-the-week post isn't just about what I got in my mailbox or on my Kindle each week -- though that is a big part of it, I won't lie -- I decided to change up the title and intro a bit.  I might tweak the format a bit over the next few weeks, but for the most part, it'll contain the same stuff: stuff I got, stuff I did, and stuff that's coming up on the blog.  Plus, I get to use the awesome GIF you see here and blow kisses to all the people who sent me lovely books and bookish things.  Oh, and I've started linking up to Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews since I'm not using a specific meme title anymore.  April's also doing her own Stacking the Shelves posts on Sundays.  Stop by and say hi!  =)
I am so glad this long week is finally over. Sure, I had to get up early to attend Katie's second soccer game of the season this morning, but that at least, is worth it. :) Speaking of, here are some pictures from her first game last week:

She's pretty stinkin' adorable, right? And she's a pretty damn good goalie when it's her turn. There are only six girls on the team, and five are needed to play. And there's one girl who never manages to make it to practice, and now she's missing games, too. Or, one game, actually, but still...it was the first one! So, yeah, they rotate goalies to give each girl a bit of a break. =)

Didn't get much reading at all done this week, but I have big plans for this weekend. :) Daddy'll be at the deer lease again prepping for the beginning of bow season next month, so it's just me and the kid after the game. Here they are the last time we went out to the deer lease:

I didn't get much in the way of book mail this week, but what I did get was ah-maz-ing! Anyway, here's what I scored this week:

For Review:

Netgalley/Edelweiss
Blue Lily, Lily Blue (The Raven Cycle, #3)

Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater - OMGGGGG!!!!! *flails* I just completed my re-read of the first two books and will be opening up this baby VERY soon.

Purchased:

The Infinite Sea (The Fifth Wave #2)

The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey - Read it, loved it, will review it next week. But it was an awesome sequel, one of those that's just as good as the first book and really paves the way for a fantastic finale. (There are only three books, right? Please tell me there are only three books planned!)

So, that's my haul. How about you? What did you get this week?

Every BreathThe Young Elites (The Young Elites, #1)I've been hearing the best things about Marie Lu's newest novel, and I'm finally getting to my ARC. It's one of those that I expect to finish in one sitting...if people will just leave me alone for a few hours! :D

What if Sherlock Holmes was the boy next door? Yeah, what if?!? That'd seriously be awesome. I have no doubt that I'm going to love this one. I love detective-type mysteries and this one sounds like a lot of fun.

Yes, I'm still reading the books I started last weekend. Couldn't be helped...just didn't find much time to read this week, though I anticipate finishing both of these this weekend and picking up Blue Lily, Lily Blue immediately after. =D
