"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week's WoW selection is...
Author: Maggie Stiefvater
Series: Wolves of Mercy Falls, book #4
Publisher: Scholastic Press
Publication Date: July 1, 2014
A standalone companion book to the internationally bestselling Shiver Trilogy.
Sinner follows Cole St. Clair, a pivotal character from the #1 New York Times bestselling Shiver Trilogy. Everybody thinks they know Cole's story. Stardom. Addiction. Downfall. Disappearance. But only a few people know Cole's darkest secret -- his ability to shift into a wolf. One of these people is Isabel. At one point, they may have even loved each other. But that feels like a lifetime ago. Now Cole is back. Back in the spotlight. Back in the danger zone. Back in Isabel's life. Can this sinner be saved?
I've been chomping at the bit since I first heard that this book existed. And now it has a cover! Granted, the cover doesn't match the other three books in the series, but I could almost forgive that since this is a companion novel focusing on Cole St. Clair (YUM!). However, did they have to go and change the covers for the other three books? Don't get me wrong, I like them. I like that they're still similar to the old covers in content, but now I have the desire to have these books with the new covers, even though I have all of them in hardcover already and Maggie has signed them herself.
Now that you know what I'm dying to read, what are you waiting on this week? Feel free to share it in the comments or leave a link so I can stop by!
I'm so freaking excited for this one! Loved Cole and Isabel, and I'm so glad Maggie is finishing their story for us. I love the cover, but I don't like the cover changes for the trilogy. So jealous you have them signed xD

Just for the record, I like the other covers WAY more. :( This is one series that I wanted to love so much, but just couldn't get into it. I tried to read Shiver at least 5 times, and never got past 100 pages. Oh well, I can't love 'em all I guess. :) Thanks for sharing! Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteI was really excited when I heard about this too! I think a series re-read of the other books is in order.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of sad that they changed the covers, the other ones were so beautiful. Luckily I have ebook copies so I can still see them, even if they're not in colour. :)
One of these days I WILL read this series! Ugh, I hate when publishers do that. And it's not that big of a difference either, but STILL a difference and totally frustrating.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly why they change the covers. They want the die hard fans to go out and repurchase the series. I had no clue a companion book was releasing for this series. Sounds so good though.

I preferred the old covers--so beautiful. these are nice I guess but, but, but...I wanted the companion story to match. Oh well. I'm honestly just excited there is a companion story. I can't wait to read it! Great pick

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to have a physical copy of this on my shelf to go with the rest of the set. And for work, too, as I've already recommended it to multiple people. And, although I *wouldn't* necessarily recommend doing so, you could, feasibly, read this one without reading the other three. So there's that.
