In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. It's a weekly meme where we all get to brag about the books and swag we got in the mail, for review, won in contests, etc.
I'm out and about today, fighting the crowds while I try to finish up my Christmas shopping. Boo! But we took Katie to see Frozen last night, and it was sooo cute. Put me in the holiday spirit, anyway, along with my re-listen of Dash & Lily's Book of Dares. Love that one. =)
Anyway, here's what I scored this week:
For Review:
Thank you, Simon Pulse, Random House & Livia Blackburne!!!
(click on the covers above to be taken to the Goodreads page for each book)
#scandal by Sarah Ockler - I love Sarah Ockler. I can't not read this one.
Don't Even Think About It by Sarah Mlynowski - This will be my first book by this author but it sounds like a light and fun take on a superpower I'd love to have!
Poison Dance by Livia Blackburne - The author offered me a review copy of this novella after I added her full-length novel to my TBR on Goodreads. If you're interested, it's on sale for $0.99 through tomorrow! I'll be reviewing it tomorrow, but suffice it to say, I am very intrigued by the story and can't wait to get my hands on Midnight Thief!
Audiobooks:
Don't look at me like that...Audible was having another sale, and I was getting low on listens. And I know I already have two physical copies of World After, but with this sale, the audio only ran me like $5.45. And I liked Caitlin Davies' performance of the first book, so I know this will be good. Also, I miss Raffe already.
So, that's my haul. How about you? What did you get this week?
Reviews:
- Forged by Jennifer Rush (novella)
- Defy by Sara B. Larson
- Going Vintage by Lindsey Leavitt (audio)
- Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller
- Rebel Spring by Morgan Rhodes
- Being Sloane Jacobs by Lauren Morrill

Jen's Currently Reading/Listening To:
This isn't technically next on the list, but it is on my winter TBR, and I felt like reading a contemporary before jumping into another fantasy or sci-fi due to the book hangover I'm suffering from after The Unbound.
After finishing The Fiery Heart, I needed more, so I've been re-listening to the audio for the Vampire Academy series. I'm on Spirit Bound right now. “I’d said it before and meant it: Alive or undead, the love of my life was a badass.” *sigh*

A lot of people are getting #scandal this week. It does sound really intriguing and maybe I'll request it too :)
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely looking forward to your review of Unhinged - cannot wait for that one <3
Happy reading!
My IMM
Aah I didn't know Sarah Ockler had new book. Totally got to check it out later with World After, since I'm kinda dying to read it!

I really like Scarlet :D So happy reading & listening!
ReplyDeleteI very much need to read Scarlet! I have heard wonderful things. I miss Raffe already too! I need the third book now. I hope we don't have to wait years. Great haul! Have a great week :-)
ReplyDeleteI read one book by Sarah Mlynowski and was ehh, but this one sounds really good! I'm nervous about this new Ockler book because I'm not a fan of cheating, but I'm getting a copy from the author so no harm, right? I can't wait to see what you think about those two. And SCARLET! I just finished that one and loved it. I'm looking forward to seeing how you like the narrator. Great haul, Jen ;)
ReplyDeleteSo many awesome books! I really want to read Scandal and Don't Even Think About It. I've been out of the blogging world for so long I didn't even know they were coming out haha. Also I wanted to say thank you for your super-nice comment on my post! :) <3
ReplyDeleteHaha, you really have an audiobook addiction, huh? ^^ But that Scarlet one. I've been meaning to read it for AGES!! And I haven't heard of any of those you got for review before o.O Poison Dance sounds right up my alley though because assassins :D Definitely marking that upcoming series down as a must-read! Thanks for making me aware of it, and happy reading :)

I'm so excited to read #scandal and Don't Even Think About It. I love Sarah Mylnowski. She was one of the Red Dress Ink authors before that publisher kicked the bucket and I loved all of her cute chick-lit books. Have you not read Frankie yet, or are you just re-listening? That is one of my all-time favorites. If it is your first time reading, I cannot wait to hear what you think!!
