In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. It's a weekly meme where we all get to brag about the books and swag we got in the mail, for review, won in contests, etc.
I think the temperatures are supposed to be in the lower 90s this weekend where I'm at, and for this Texas girl, that's tolerable for outdoor reading. =) And I have a ton of reading to catch up on, so that's where I'll be. Away from the distraction that is the interwebz. Hopefully. Okay, I'll try. :D
For Review:
First, the one that induced all the flailing:
Thankyouthankyouthankyou to Skyscape/Amazon Children's Publishing for the ARC of World After by Susan Ee, the long, long, looooong-awaited sequel to Angelfall. I am probably reading this right this second. Or, I've already finished and I'm going through withdrawals. Hard to say.
Thanks to Netgalley, Entangled Teen & Disney Hyperion for these review copies:
Made of Stars by Kelley York - I just love untrustworthy characters. It'd be even better if he was the narrator! :) Can't wait to read this!
Alienated by Melissa Landers - An alien foreign exchange program? That sounds like it could either be beneficial or completely calamitous. :P
Won/Gifted:
Thanks to Paper Lantern Lit for the finished copy of Eternity by Elizabeth Miles. I'm not caught up on this series, so I may end up giving this one away so someone else can enjoy it sooner rather than later. IOW, look for it in a So Many Books So Little Time Giveaway soon. =)
Thanks also to Cynthia Hand for the generous foreign edition giveaway she did recently, in which I received the Australian audiobook version of Boundless. I've already read this, but I can't wait to experience that ending all over again.
So, that's my haul. How about you? What did you get this week?
Reviews:
Promotional/Discussion Posts: I shared a weird reading spot with you guys on The Sunday Symposium. On Monday, I shared an excerpt and the teaser trailer for Marie Lu's Champion. I teased Once We Were by Kat Zhang on Tuesday. And I'm waiting on Dreams of Gods & Monsters by Laini Taylor this week...the wait is already torturous and the cover was only just revealed! On Wednesday, I also helped reveal the first official excerpt for Victoria Scott's Fire & Flood. Plus, we discussed re-rating books on this week's Thoughtful Thursday, and I also shared the cover for K.A. Tucker's Four Seconds to Lose.
Jen's Currently Reading/Listening To:
Love the covers for this series. So far, I'm enjoying this one as much as the first, and I should have my review up early next week in time for the book's release.

I loved Wasserman's The Book of Blood and Shadow. I've heard that this book is pretty brutal, and so far, it's living up to it's reputation. So good.

ReplyDeleteAlienated looks really great as well! Unfortunately for me, Hyperion doesn't accept requests from non-US bloggers so I didn't even try *sigh*
