The Weekend Update - 4.5.14

So, since my end-of-the-week post isn't just about what I got in my mailbox or on my Kindle each week -- though that is a big part of it, I won't lie -- I decided to change up the title and intro a bit.  I might tweak the format a bit over the next few weeks, but for the most part, it'll contain the same stuff:  stuff I got, stuff I did, and stuff that's coming up on the blog.  Plus, I get to use the awesome GIF you see here and blow kisses to all the people who sent me lovely books and bookish things.  Oh, and I've started linking up to Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews since I'm not using a specific meme title anymore.  April's also doing her own Stacking the Shelves posts on Sundays.  Stop by and say hi!  =)

Been a rough week around these parts, what with the crazy spring storms here in North Texas and Katie getting a double ear infection, but we're managing. Just so glad it's finally the weekend! Hope you're all doing well, too!

  2. Yay for The Midnight Thief! I feel like I've been waiting for that one since forever. Gah. Time moves so slow when you're waiting for stuff to come out, but so fast when you've got too many ARCs. THE IRONIES. *ahem* I'm looking forward to your review of Second Star!

  4. So sorry about the double ear infection :-( I hope Katie feels better soon. It is always so stressful when the kiddo is sick. Mine is suffering from the worst allergies right now. I hate not being able to really solve the problem. I hope the weekend treats you well and this next week goes better.

Can't wait to read your Second Star review. MIDNIGHT THIEF!!! I was not aware it was up on NG.

    1. It's the worst, not being able to magically make them feel better. :( Katie's got pretty bad allergies, too, so on top of her antibiotics, she's taking stuff for that, too. She's doing much better now, though, thanks. :)

Yep, I've been stalking NG for it, honestly. Especially after reading that prequel the author sent over. LOVELOVELOVE assassins!!! :D

    1. Nope, no fun at all. But the antibiotics kicked in pretty quick, so she's up and running around again. :) Hope we both enjoy CaFS, especially considering some not so stellar reviews I've seen as of late. :(

    1. That one's actually a sequel to Love in the Time of Global Warming...and it was an Odyssey retelling of sorts, and this one's based on Virgil's Aeneid. Short but awesome. :) I hope you're having a great weekend, too!
