In My Mailbox #86

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.  It's a weekly meme where we all get to brag about the books and swag we got in the mail, for review, won in contests, etc.

Um, in the middle of Jen trying to purge her shelves to make way for new reads, she went on a bender and got a ton more.  Oops.  Check out the damage...

For Review:

Indelible (The Twixt, #1)Consume (The Clann, #3)

via Netgalley/Harlequin Teen - click on covers to be taken to the Goodreads page for each book

Indelible by Dawn Metcalf - I am just so extremely intrigued by this premise.  Really hoping this one doesn't disappoint.

Consume by Melissa Darnell - I've been with this series since the beginning.  Was a little disappointed with the 2nd book, but not enough to give up.  Must. Know. What. Happens.  :)

physical ARCs (thanks Random House & Jen)
click on links below to be taken to the Goodreads page for each book

The Eye of Minds by James Dashner - I still haven't finished his Maze Runner series, but I like technology-minded books.

Teardrop by Lauren Kate - Pretty cover.  But it's Lauren Kate.  I don't know...

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas - Yes, I got this from Netgalley last week, but my awesome friend Jen (see, even her name is awesome!) scored me an ARC at BEA.  Soooo excited to get started on this baby!

Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson - Apparently, I've been missing out.  I've never read anything by this guy, but this book sounds freaking amazing.  Like, move to the top of your stack amazing!

Won:

From the awesome Elizabeth Norris, I won the above signed swag pack to celebrate the release of Unbreakable!

Purchased:

Don't know if most of you know it, but Mendy and I not only blog together (sort of), but we also work together.  Which means we also go shopping on our lunch breaks a lot.  And this week, we stopped by the flagship Half Price Books store here in Dallas.  And ended up with all of the lovelies pictured above.  I've read most of these, but I like to have pretty finished copies on my shelves.  And Mendy is pretty new to YA, so I'm adding to the list of books I'm going to force her to read.  :D

So, that's our haul.  How about you?  What did you get this week?

The Week in Review:

Reviews:

Current Giveaways: the Dance of the Red Death Tour (sponsored giveaway) & the Born of Illusion Blog Tour (sponsored giveaway), June is Audiobook Month giveaway

Promotional/Discussion Posts:  SYNC's 2013 Week 3 offerings are up for download, with The Raven Boys and Bless Me, Ultima up for grabs this week -- FOR FREE!  We also discussed book series on this week's Sunday Symposium post.

Jen's Currently Reading/Listening:

If I Should Die (Revenants, #3)Truly, Madly, DeadlyThe premise sounds good, but the pacing's a bit fast for my taste...makes it hard to really develop any suspense for me.

I have the biggest [audiobook] hangover after The Sea of Tranquility.  Don't know if it was a good idea to try to pick up this finale after that.  o_O

Mendy's Currently Reading/Listening:

Mendy is currently in between reads right now.  But she has more than enough to choose from.  =)

The Week Ahead:

Reviews:  Mini-reviews of Sweet Peril (audio), Tiger Lily (audio) & Reboot (audio); Mendy may finally get around to reviewing Eleanor & Park (audio); Truly, Madly, Deadly; & You Are Mine

  2. *Grabs Along for the Ride* *evil laugh* *sprints away*

Might as well take The Beautiful and the Cursed while I'm at it *grabs that too*

In other words, I'm so jealous of your books! What Happens Next looks awesome as well, and so does Teardrop. I wasn't a huge fan of her Fallen series, but I'll give Lauren Kate another go with her new series. I can't wait to see your review so I can decide if I should go buy it or not :)

    1. Yeah, Two Way Street is one of the only ones in that stack I haven't read...I think I saw that the ebook is on sale right now. I love the cover for Teardrop, too, but I'm afraid. I should give it a chance, though.

    1. It's one of the only Sarah Dessen books I HAVE read, and I really enjoyed it, which is why I wanted a copy. It's great for re-reads. :) I still need to pick up her new book, though.
