In Sloane’s world, true feelings are forbidden, teen suicide is an epidemic, and the only solution is The Program.
Sloane knows better than to cry in front of anyone. With suicide now an international epidemic, one outburst could land her in The Program, the only proven course of treatment. Sloane’s parents have already lost one child; Sloane knows they’ll do anything to keep her alive. She also knows that everyone who’s been through The Program returns as a blank slate. Because their depression is gone—but so are their memories.
Under constant surveillance at home and at school, Sloane puts on a brave face and keeps her feelings buried as deep as she can. The only person Sloane can be herself with is James. He’s promised to keep them both safe and out of treatment, and Sloane knows their love is strong enough to withstand anything. But despite the promises they made to each other, it’s getting harder to hide the truth. They are both growing weaker. Depression is setting in. And The Program is coming for them.

My teaser:
"Are you always so mean?"
"Yes," I answer automatically. I wish he would go away. I wish they all would go away.

Just starting this one, but I'm liking it so far. For some reason, I always seem to like the voice of the downtrodden. This book is no different.

A gorgeous debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another.
“One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time.”
The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, numerous, messy, affectionate. And every day from her balcony perch, seventeen-year-old Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs her terrace and changes everything. As the two fall fiercely in love, Jase's family makes Samantha one of their own. Then in an instant, the bottom drops out of her world and she is suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?
A dreamy summer read, full of characters who stay with you long after the story is over.

My teaser:
"Put them down. The glow-in-the-dark ones, too. Jesus. Why do they even make those?"

Hehe...one guess what they're talking about. =) And, yes, I'm still working on this one...my dumbass left my book at work over the weekend. :(
What are you teasing this week? Share it in the comments or leave a link so we can visit!
Can't wait to read your review of the Program, Jen.
ReplyDeleteAnd I loved My Life Next Door. Hoping for a companion book!
You can find me here: Jen @ YA Romantics
I loved MLND, too....hadn't even considered a companion novel, but that would be awesome!
DeleteMendy's teaser... lolol I remember that part!
ReplyDeleteAnd yay! I love that we keep being The Program twins! I have like 40 pages left and I really love the book, and James! I hope you will too! :)
Right? That was probably my favorite scene in the book. :)
DeleteAfter reading the teaser, I might be giving The Program a shot. Hmm.....
ReplyDeleteAnd I have no clue what they could be talking about in Mendy's teaser. It can't be those stars you pin above the bed, that'd be way too normal. oO
Thanks for stepping by and sharing!
I'd definitely rec The Program...my ARC is all out of order and it's frustrating, but I'm still enjoying it. :)
DeleteAlso, would it help if I mentioned they were in a drug store, with regards to Mendy's teaser? ;)
I think they are talking about a certain type of glow-in-the-dark contraceptive. What do you say?
Delete*channels Chris Farley* THAT is correct! :D
DeleteI'm wondering what's causing the suicide epidemic in THE PROGRAM. I'd definitely read the book to find out. And MY LIFE NEXT DOOR intrigues me too. Other families always seem more interesting than our own--until we get to know them! Two good teasers.
ReplyDeleteMy Teaser is from BLUEBONNET BRIDE.
The Program is very intriguing. And My Life Next Door is comical and cute. Both great reads. :)
DeleteThe Program sounds so good. Need to check it out. But my favorite teaser has to be Mendy's. Lol, I remember that bit well. I loved My Life Next Door. Can't wait to read your reviews for both :D.
ReplyDeleteDo stop by my teaser.
My Life Next Door was one of my favorite reads last year...and I only just started enjoying contemporary novels recently, so that's saying a lot. And, yeah, that was one of my favorite bits, as well. :)
DeleteCool teasers. I'd love to get my hands on these books.
ReplyDeleteMy Life Next Door is FINALLY on Audible!! :) And I WILL be buying it this week, that's a promise. :P Hehe. The Program sounds awesome too... I'm eager to see what you think of it. I've heard a lot of positive things so far, so I'm definitely looking forward to reading it myself. Thanks for the teasers, girls! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome teasers!
ReplyDeleteGreat teasers! I can't believe I still haven't read My Life Next Door. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreat teasers -- I am thinking I will want to read the first one for sure. And I really want to know what they are talking about in the second one, haha!
ReplyDeleteHere's my teaser from SUDDENLY ROYAL by Nichole Chase.
Thanks for the teasers!
ReplyDeleteDying to read The Program, so THANKS A LOT for making the wait more difficult. :P
ReplyDeleteWendy @ The Midnight Garden
ReplyDeleteI am getting the audio of this and I can't wait to listen to it.
