Judging a Book By Its Cover #23: A Kid's Perspective on The Program by Suzanne Young

Covers By Katie
Okay, so I totally stole this idea from Sara at Forever 17 Books, who got the idea from an article on Babble called Judging a Book by Its Cover: A 6-year-old Guesses What Classic Novels Are All About.  I just discovered her lovely segment, and I immediately requested forced my own five-year-old daughter Katie to provide me with some of her own cover art artwork and then asked her what she thought the book was about.

This week, Katie gave me her take on the following book:

Add to Goodreads

"A boy and a girl are walking together to find a pretty flower and they love each other and hug each other and they hold hands all the time."

The Program as envisioned by Katiebug

I have this book coming up next on the review pile.  I've enjoyed Suzanne's A Need So Beautiful series, and I'm excited to see what she does with a dystopian-type tale.

Have you read this book or do you plan to?  What do you think of Katie's guess at the premise?

Did your little darling create a work of art based on a book this week? If so, be sure to link up with Sara over at Forever 17 Books.

  1. True story man! The synopsis totally makes sense and has a bit of imagination... I don't see a flower. Way to go Katie! Drawing is so cute.

  2. Well... I haven't read this, and I may be completely wrong here... but it seems to me that Katie's guess at the premise is EXACTLY what this story is going to be about. That would be have been my guess too... you know, based strictly on the cover. ;)

So cute! Great job, Katie!! :)
