In My Mailbox #63

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.  It's a weekly meme where we all get to brag about the books and swag we got in the mail, for review, won in contests, etc.

Ugh....I keep trying to break free of the pile, but they keep pulling me back in... =)

For Review:

Then You Were Gone by Lauren Strasnick - I've been seeing this one around a bit and it sounds all suspenseful and gritty.  I'm newish to contemporary reads, and I usually stay away from the darker ones, but something about this one is calling to me.

Level 2 by Lenore Appelhans - I actually already read an ARC of this debut novel (look for my review next week), but I was sent a finished copy, as well.  It was an exhilarating read that took a surprising turn (at least for me), and it's definitely a debut I'd recommend.

Big, big thanks to Simon & Schuster for these awesome books!!!

Purchased:

The Fault in Our Stars (audiobook) by John Green - I already own a signed copy of TFiOS, but I still haven't gotten around to reading it.  I'm waiting to be in the right mood for it, ya know?  I think now that the holidays are past us, it's the perfect time to pick this one up, so I just downloaded the audiobook from Audible.  It was only $7.95 for members in the most recent sale!  I'm finally going to take the plunge and see what all the fuss is about!

Sanctum (audiobook) by Sarah Fine - I'll be honest...I didn't give this book the time of day when it was first released.  Maybe it was the cover, I don't know.  But then I started seeing gushing reviews all over the place, and I've decided to give it a try.

Changeling (audiobook) by Philippa Gregory - Haven't read anything from this author before, as my focus is YA and MG and this is her first ever young adult novel, but the premise sounds awesome!

So excited for my new reads and hope I can make time for them soon.  What popped up in your mailbox this week?

  2. Great haul! I got a finished copy of Level 2 as well this week! I haven't read it yet (I also. Got an ARC a while ago) and I was a little hesitant to, but since you said you liked it, I think I'll give it a try :)

  4. I had the exact same feelings about Sanctum! I didn't pay it much notice before everyone started talking about how amazing it is. Curious to hear what you think when you've read it :)
And I really need to read a John Green book. I bought Looking for Alaska to give to my sister as a present, but I'm toying with the idea of peeking into it before I give it to her ^^'
Enjoy all your reads and, err, listens!

  5. Sanctum has received MANY glowing reviews from fellow readers and bloggers.. I hope you like it! Level 2 sounds intriguing, as does The You Were Gone (which, on the blurb says it's reminiscent of Thirteen Reasons Why, which I personally really liked!) Fabulous haul as always, Jen. :)
