Best of 2012 Giveaway Hop



So, I hadn't planned a hiatus from the blog for the holidays, but one was imposed on me by family and family obligations, so I missed out on doing my "best of 2012" lists this week.  But not to worry, I've still compiled  a list of favorites to subject you to...and I'm going to give one of them away to one lucky reader, thanks to this giveaway hop organized by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer.  And here are the nominees:

Ugh...it was difficult just narrowing down each category to three nominees!  There's just no way I could have picked a favorite in each, let alone a favorite book overall, though there were some serious contenders in there.

  • This giveaway is international.  As long as The Book Depository ships to your location, you are good to go.  (You can double-check that here.)
  • One entry per household.
  • All entries will be verified.  Any entry found to be falsified will result in disqualification of all entries for that participant.

  69. I read a lot of good books in 2012 so it’s hard to pick just one, but I think the one that stands out the most is,” The Crimson League (The Herezoth Trilogy)”, by Victoria Grefer . I wasn’t expecting it to be nearly as good as it was but when I read it, I was so surprised as it turned out to be completely brilliant as she brought an entire world to life. I loved it.

  79. My #1 pick was GRAVE MERCY by Robin LaFevers. I loved it to pieces and still sigh every time I pass my copy on my shelf. Of course, there were many others that I adored, but GM tops them all.

  91. I have a lot of 2012 favorite reads! Most of them are fantasy though: The Killing Moon (NK Jemisin - oh my god this one is sooooo good! Believe me. You should read it, if you haven't. One of best fantasies out there!), A Face Like Glass - Frances Hardinge, Deathless - Catherynne M. Valente, Throne of Glass - Sarah J. Maas, Airborne - Kenneth Oppel, and many more!

  116. I honestly havent read any that were released in 2012 yet, though I have many on my wtr list on gr. I got distracted by my first year in mommyhood and a few recommendations from family. My fave that I read was the mirror by marlys millhiser, an older book that my mom recommended to me.
