***The Starry-Eyed Revue***: new-to-us

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome ladies at The Broke and the Bookish. Apparently, they are overly fond of list-making and love to share their bookish lists with the rest of us book nerds. =) We're game.

This week's topic is the Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2014.

As I gathered all of these together, I'm pleasantly surprised to see I've tried out so many new authors. I was seriously afraid I wouldn't be able to come up with 10 but when I sat down and looked I realized I probably could have listed more.

Jen's Picks:

As you can see, I discovered quite a few authors this year...way more than the allotted ten, but I couldn't help myself. (I usually can't.) Some of these I actually read right at the end of 2013 and then read the sequel as soon as it was released this year, but I'm counting them because I'm just too excited about finally being clued in to how awesome these authors and their books are.

Also of note, look how many new contemporary authors I tried out this year! Go me! I remember when I'd pass on any and all contemporary novels, and now some of those I passed on are some of my favorite reads.

I wanted to include some debut authors, too, because I read SO many good ones this year, but I figure those authors are new to everyone. =) That, and my list is already pretty long, obvs.
