Rush promised her forever... but promises can be broken. Torn between his love for his family and his love for Blaire, Rush has to find a way to save one without losing the other. In the end one has to be more important. Letting go isn’t easy. Blaire believed in her fairytale... but no one can live in a fantasy. Her love for Rush and desire to have a family keep her believing that they can find a way for this to work. Until she has to make the right decision for her and the baby. Even if it breaks her heart. Can they find the forever that they both want or has it all just gone... too far?

This will not be an easy review to write. I think that is why I have put this book off for so long. I feel like Forever Too Far should never have been written. Never Too Far (book #2) kind of leaves you hanging. A simple Epilogue would have solved that issue. A whole book was not necessary.
First of all, I want to put out there that I am an Abbi Glines fan. I adored the early Sea Breeze books, and The Vincent boys but somewhere along the way she lost me. I’m still a fan, of her past work. I’ll never take that back, but the stuff she’s been coming out with lately just isn’t good and it gets worse with every title.

That’s harsh, I know and I feel horrible for feeling that way but I’m honest. It's just my opinion. These Fallen Too Far books were what started it all. I kept pushing on because I hoped these characters would grow on me. Unfortunately they have not.

They have become so over the top that they are completely unbelievable. Add the situations, the drama, and the family secrets that are also over the top. Ugh, I love a family secret here and there, but all these characters popping up who were spawned by this one or that one’s father, it’s become a Maury Povich melting pot of fluff.

If you want to know what this book was about in a nutshell, [SPOILER ALERT] Rush and Blaire $@#%… a lot. Rush gets mixed up with Nans problems and isn’t there for Blaire when she needs him so she runs off like a hurt puppy. He follows her, begs forgiveness and they $@#% and get married. $@#% and have the baby, then $@#% some more. Oh and the beginnings of Grants story and portions of Woods story take up the end. *shakes head* <-- remember when I said this book shouldn’t have been written. This is why. It’s a short book to begin with and there wasn’t even enough Rush and Blaire to fill it on their own.

So basically it's Fallen too Far and Never too Far re-written for your pleasure. With bonus content leading into spin offs of course.

The same mistakes, the same drama, and it has all become so predictable. I read this with my close friend Jess. We knew right away what was coming. So enter Grant and new character. That book will set up the same way guaranteed.

Grant lusts for the new character (whom Nan happens to hate…) They will $@#%, and $@#%, and Nan will flip out, and that will cause problems with the new relationship and old one, and both will be hurt, blah blah blah! It will be Rush and Blaire all over again. Why bother? There you go, I just saved you some money.

What gets me the most about the change in these books, is the decline in quality. When I first started reading Abbi Glines books, there was real sexual tension. The characters felt real and their feelings for each other were authentic. Now a days I pick up one of her books and the first thing the guy is thinking is “Oh man, I can’t wait to ram my "Sausage" in her throat. Look at those lips.. they are meant for sucking.” Forget getting to know a person. By chapter #2 they have already exchanged every fluid possible. Then all of a sudden it’s love. NO!!! IT'S NOT!

That’s my main problem with connecting with these characters. They are so shallow and fake. All they want to do is boink (that could be a song!) Then to top it off, there are multiple books put out following all of these characters. Normally I love that sort of thing but not when it's the same story! I was excited when Simple Perfection came out but the Woods you met in Forever too far and Fallen too Far was now just a Rush wannabe sexaholic. Same old crap but with a different title.

I’m sad to say this will most likely be my last Abbi Glines book. I mean that sincerely, and it sucks but this is what has become of her stories. Plot and characterization has been exchanged with distasteful sex and ridiculousness.  I’m not really sure what happened, but I’m not a fan of it.

As for the Sea Breeze books, I don’t plan on finishing those either. They started out great but have hit a downward trend. I would say it’s just me, but it’s not. I’m not the only reader who has picked up on this and vocalized it. It is what it is though. I don’t have to like it, and I certainly don’t have to pay for it. I would still recommend her early stuff. Especially the Vincent Boys.

I'm a very bad book blogger, guys.  I mean it.  I own all of the Sea Breeze series by Abbi Glines, but I haven't read a single one of them.  *ducks head in shame*  BUT, to rectify that, I'm going to share the cover (Mooney Designs) AND the book trailer (Hellion Works) for the fourth book in the series with all of you, thanks to AToMR Tours!

About the author:
Abbi Glines can be found hanging out with rockstars, taking out her yacht on weekends for a party cruise, sky diving, or surfing in Maui. Okay maybe she needs to keep her imagination focused on her writing only. In the real world, Abbi can be found hauling kids (several who seem to show up that don’t belong to her) to all their social events, hiding under the covers with her MacBook in hopes her husband won’t catch her watching Buffy on Netflix again, and sneaking off to Barnes and Noble to spend hours lost in the yummy goodness of books. If you want to find her then check Twitter first because she has a severe addiction to tweeting @abbiglines.   Facebook is also somewhere she visits a little too often. She blogs regularly but rarely about anything life changing. She also really enjoys talking about herself in third person.

And now, the moment you've been waiting for...drumroll, please....

Whoa, that's a hawt cover!  I love that each of these books focuses on a different main character...I'm trying to get to them very soon.  Though, maybe I should wait until that 5th book is out...

I have this feeling that all of these covers will get remade into that faded, hot couple thing they've got going on the first and fourth books, but I don't mind.  I liked the uniqueness of the old covers, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with the new covers.  In fact, they're hot and give off a vibe about what's inside the books.  (Though, I can't really speak from experience since I haven't read them yet. :C )

The day Preston Drake figured out that wealthy women paid well for a set of tight abs and a pretty face his life turned around.

The run down rat-infested trailer he had shared with his alcoholic mother and three younger siblings was now only a place he visited to pay the bills and stock the pantry with food.

He no longer worried about his family starving or living without electricity. The money he made entertaining rich older women more than covered his family’s needs and his own. He had it all figured out. Except…

There was this girl.

She was as innocent as he was tainted.

Amanda Hardy wished her knees didn’t get weak when Preston walked into a room. She hated the fact her heart raced when he flashed his smile in her direction. He had a different girl in his bed every night. He was the kind of boy a smart girl ran from. So, why was she coming up with ways to get close to him? Even when it was obvious he wanted to keep her at a distance.

Maybe her heart knew something the world didn’t. Maybe Preston Drake was more than just a pretty face.

And here's the trailer, in case all of that wasn't enough to grab your attention:

So, what do you think?  Another must-read Abbi Glines novel?
