{WOW} Bound by Blood and Sand by Becky Allen

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's WoW selection is...

's Pick:

Title: Bound by Blood and Sand
Author: Becky Allen
Series: untitled series, book #1
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Publication Date: October 11, 2016

Add to Goodreads
A new YA fantasy series in the vein of Tamora Pierce, exploring class and power. The novel follows a slave girl in a desert world where the magical Well is running dry; when she discovers a source of magic, she may have the power to save the water and her world, but returning the water means saving her slavers.

I already know that I need this book. I've only read one of Tamora Pierce's series but it was amazing and I'll forever be indebted to those who told me to read it. And so I am doing myself a favor by putting this book at the top of my TBR. For October. But I'm probably not going to be able to stop thinking about it until then...

  3. I love Tamora Pierce! I'll have to add this one on GoodReads! Right now I'm currently waiting on Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman. I'm excited to see how she weaves history and pirates into this one!

  4. This one is new to me but it sounds fantastic. In general YA fantasy is my kryptonite but especially if it's about power and class. I'm definitely adding this to my TBR. Great pick!
