The Weekend Update - 10.24.15

So, since my end-of-the-week post isn't just about what I got in my mailbox or on my Kindle each week -- though that is a big part of it, I won't lie -- I decided to change up the title and intro a bit.  I might tweak the format a bit over the next few weeks, but for the most part, it'll contain the same stuff: stuff I got, stuff I did, and stuff that's coming up on the blog.  Plus, I get to use the awesome GIF you see here and blow kisses to all the people who sent me lovely books and bookish things.  Oh, and I've started linking up to Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews since I'm not using a specific meme title anymore.  April's also doing her own Stacking the Shelves posts on Sundays.  Stop by and say hi!  =)
Things have been a little quiet again on the blog this week. I kind of immersed myself in the Seven Realms trilogy while I worked and unpacked and I didn't surface until it was time to go to bed. ;) But it was time well spent. I'm finishing up my bookshelves today since we're getting some serious -- and much needed -- rain this weekend. The pond on our property has doubled in size from what it was when we first bought the house a few weeks ago. Now I wish I had taken a before picture to show you the difference. Oh, well. Once I get finished unpacking and getting settled this weekend, I promise pictures will be forthcoming.

Anyway, here's what I scored this week...

For Review:

Thanks to Tundra Books, I received a finished copy of Every Word by Ellie Marney! I'm so glad to have this to add to my collection of her books and to participate in the blog tour!

Library:

Nowhere But Here (Thunder Road, #1)

I borrowed this one because I'd heard a lot of good things and I really enjoyed her first book Pushing the Limits, but this book was such a letdown. I won't be reviewing it here but I did leave a mini-review on Goodreads.

Purchased/Pre-Ordered:

The Demon King (Seven Realms, #1)The Exiled Queen (Seven Realms, #2)The Gray Wolf Throne (Seven Realms, #3)The Crimson Crown (Seven Realms, #4)

I broke down and bought the audiobooks in the Seven Realms series because I knew I'd likely never get to the copy of The Demon King that I've had on my shelves forever. Really, REALLY not regretting this decision one iota. The audio is phenomenal and the story is even more amazing. I've been listening pretty much non-stop.

My Emergency Reading Party Kit arrived this week! I still haven't read Carry On yet, but it's on the agenda. =) And my glorious pre-ordered copy of Illuminae came in on release day, much to my delight. I loved that book so hard and I wish I had time to re-read it right now. I may end up getting the audio, just like I did for Six of Crows. ;0)

So, that's my haul. =) What did the bookmail faeries bring you this week?

Currently Reading:

I (finally) finished reading Dreamstrider this week and I'm going to try to have my review up tomorrow or sometime this week, at least. But I've still been busy unpacking, so I haven't had much time for reading lately. I have been listening to a TON of audio, though. ;0)

Currently Listening:

The Crimson Crown (Seven Realms, #4)I am so in love with this series. I can't believe I waited so long to read it. I've just begun this final book -- with plans to pick up everything else Cinda Williams Chima has written, including the advance copy I have of Flamecaster!!! -- but I already know I'm in for it. I am SO pulling for Han!

Upcoming Reviews:

DreamstriderFirewalker (Worldwalker, #2)The Immortal Heights (The Elemental Trilogy, #3)Ice Like Fire (Snow Like Ashes, #2)
