Top Ten Tuesday: Books We'd Read With Our Book Club...If We Had One

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome ladies at The Broke and the Bookish. Apparently, they are overly fond of list-making and love to share their bookish lists with the rest of us book nerds.  =) We're game.

This week's topic is the Ten Books I'd Love to Read With My Book Club/If I Had A Book Club (or you could pick a specific kind of book club -- like if you had a YA book club or an adult book club or a science fiction book club etc.):

April's Picks:

There are two kinds of books I love to discuss. Books that make me cry, because not a lot makes me cry so it must have effected me deeply. And of course, end of the world stories. I could discuss the earths demise for days at a time. There are so many things that could do us in!

Jen's Picks:

Basically, I'm taking this topic to mean books I could sit around and discuss for hours with like-minded individuals. =) And I could definitely do that with all of these titles:

Which books would be on your book club TBR? Be sure to share a link to your TTT post so we can visit!

  1. Oh, books that made me cry would've been a good idea for book club books! I want to read them, but at the same time I don't want to cry... Plot twist ones I like though!

  2. How the snarf did you read Court of Roses and Thorns already? Is the book as amazing as I already assume, because Throne of Glass is amazing, so that book has to be too right?

  4. I love Melina Marchetta's contemporaries. Could talk about all of them for hours, but Jellicoe Road is especially good for discussion.

I'm reading I'll Meet You There right now and it's killing me. I think it would be so much fun to read that one with Trish Doller's Something Like Normal and compare/contrast.

  9. These are two fantastic selections for books. :) I have to say all the books on your first list are on my TBR. I actually need to read Maybe One Day within the next couple days. I have Second Chance Summer too.

I don't know the first three books on your second list, but Not A Drop To Drink sounds really interesting. I'm iffy about The 5th Wave, I don't know, I'm just not interested in it.

Ah, Kiss of Deception, I'll Give You The Sun, 99 Days, I'll Meet You There, and A Court of Thorn and Roses are all books I want to read. I actually have three of those books. I've borrowed I'll Give You The Sun, which I need to finish….

  10. Jellicoe Road is....oh. Oh yes, I would love to discuss this novel. Our blog did it for Forgotten Friday one week, and it was such a beautiful discussion. Lots of tears and fangirling, but we did have a good discussion.

For A Court of Thorns and Roses, I NEED for people to read this so I can discuss the ending!!! I have a lot to say about the final arc of the story (the third trial).
