Young Adult Paranormal Giveaway Hop
February 21st - 27th
Hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer
Co - hosted by YA Between the Lines
**Featuring Young Adult Books with Paranormal Elements**
I have so many books I'll never get to read, the books I'm including in this giveaway included, so I've started making a stack of the ones that I am less likely to read. There is nothing wrong with these books. I just believe that they deserve a better home than I've given them. Namely, I hope they go to a place where they will be read and loved, not sitting on a shelf collecting dust.
Here are the books I've decided to find new homes for, under the guise of the YA Paranormal Giveaway Hop:
ARC of The Peculiars by Maureen Doyle McQuerry ARC of After Obsession by Carrie Jones & Steven E. Wedel |

ReplyDeleteAs for my favorite Paranormal Author or book series, it goes way back to when my daughter was in grade school and she loved to read, as she still does today. She started reading the "Goosebumps" series. R.L Stein. was the author and she loved the books so much that I became curious and started reading them too. Every since then, for now, he is my favorite because of my memories.
ReplyDeleteI love the "League Series" by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Can't wait for the new one called "The Fury" to come out.
ReplyDeleteI really like The Prince of Wolves Series by Quinn Loftis. She has that way of writing that causes the reader to laugh out loud.

I love YA Paranormal books. Thinking back on my favorites, I would have to go with "Poison Study" and "Cinder." In "Poison Study," there is an unexpected romance with real, deep character development. I love the character of Valek. He appears to be inhuman only to be one of the very human characters in the story. In "Cinder," I appreciate how closely the author followed the fairytale of 'Cinderella' without being confined by it. There was still a lot of freedom in Marissa Meyer's universe and I kept find myself wondering how is she going to fit that into this story?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

Some really good recent YA books are Something Strange and Deadly (Susan Dennard) and Shadow and Bone (Leigh Bardugo).
ReplyDeleteFor YA PNR, I love The Iron Fey series, the Modern Faerie Tale series, Melissa Marr, and both Ballad and Lament by Maggie Stiefvater.
ReplyDeleteFor adult PNR, I'm fond of Jim Butcher, Kevin Hearne, Karen Chance, Seanan McGuire, Clay and Susan Griffith's Vampire Empire trilogy, and Karen Marie Moning.
Most definitely Jim Butcher's Dresden Files. Its a male lead, wizard - he has a horny skull familiar - its hilarious. It has everything and such a refreshing change from all the ones where the lead is female!

ReplyDeleteI have so many favorites...but my obsession right now is THE RAVEN BOYS by Maggie Stiefvater! Seriously - hopefully I can say this without sounding weird - i wanted to like EAT the words, they were so gorgeous!!! I could see everything in my head, I adored all the characters and felt all their emotions, I absolutely loved the fact that it's based on what might be called (maybe?) "historical myth," I LOVED the relationship between Blue and her mother.... I could go on for days! I first read this as a library book and then just had to buy my own copy, and also pre-order book 2 while I was at it :).
