Title:  Sweet Peril
Author:  Wendy Higgins
Series:  The Sweet Trilogy, book #2
Publisher:  HarperTeen
Publication Date:  April 30, 2013

Anna Whitt, daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a claim. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

Why I'm waiting:  So, I finally got around to reviewing Sweet Evil last night.  If you can tell, I enjoyed it...much more than I was expecting to.  I'm interested to see what transpires between Kaidan and Anna and Kopano.  Also, I imagine that the fun is about to get a kick-start -- or a kick in the pants -- now that Anna can't be Little Miss Goody Goody anymore.  That should be...fun, interesting, hot, [insert adjective here].  Just that sultry look Anna is sporting on the cover has me thinking that sweet, naive little Anna has gone the way of the dodo.  And I say good riddance.  :P  Let the good times roll...

  3. I have not started this series yet. After this comment heading over to your review. The first book has been a book I am on the ledge with. I haven't been sure I wanted to read it or not... Hopefully your review will fix that problem.

    So to your earlier comments!

Ender's game was good. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but it's definitely a boy book.

I am going to listen to This Dark Endeavor. I am really excited for it. I have been trying to get to it for a while now. Right now I am listening to Carrier of the Mark and should finish it up today so then Ican start This Dark Endeaver.

I am still trying to get my hands on Unspoken! Argh!!!! I am so jealous. Can't wait to see your review for it.

  4. I enjoyed Sweet Evil -- I went into it expecting a generic YA paranormal: girl with special powers, hot, broody guy, yada yada. And it surprised me! So I agree with you -- excited for the next installment.
