 Title:  The Indigo Spell
Author:  Richelle Mead
Series:  3rd book in the Bloodlines series (Vampire Academy spin-off)
Publisher:  Razorbill
Publication Date:  February 12, 2013

After an event that changed Sydney and Adrian’s lives forever, Sydney struggles to draw the line between her Alchemist teachings and what her heart is urging her to do. Then she meets alluring Marcus Finch, a former Alchemist who pushes her to rebel against the people who raised her. And when Sydney comes face to face with an evil magic user, she finally begins to embrace the mysterious magic she knows she holds within . . .

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, the Bloodlines series explores all the friendship, romance, battles, and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive—this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone’s out for blood.

Why I'm waiting:  Okay, I know I just finished The Golden Lily, but after that ending, I must have this book NOW.  I read the entire Vampire Academy series after all of the books were released, and I've got to say, I kind of wish I could've waited to start this series, as well.  At least there's not a year in between releases with this series, though.  :D  It's just so captivating and fun to read!  I'm glad to see Adrian moving on and I love Sydney as the heroine this time around.  Don't get me wrong, I loved Rose, too, but I can relate more with Sydney.

So, what book are you itching to get your hands on?

    1. I did the same thing with The Golden Lily and then had to chastise myself for not reading it sooner. :P

  2. Ack! I still haven't read The Golden Lily. I wasn't sure that I'd continue the series. Looks like I'd better rethink that. Thanks for sharing!

  5. Yikes. A series I haven't even begun reading yet... Both VA and this spin off... Perhaps I should, yes? Considering Dimitri beat Daemon in the YA Crush Tourney recently. BOOOO!! Regardless, thanks for sharing this pick with us!

    1. I loved that ending...except the VERY end. Poor Adrian. Let's hope he catches a break in The Indigo Spell. But that synopsis has me wondering about this Marcus fellow. :P

  8. I almost picked this one for my own WoW! Can't wait. I breezed through Bloodlines and was so glad that I only had to wait a week until The Golden Lily came out! At least we have the pretty cover to look at while we twiddle our thumbs and drink our tea.

  10. I did the same thing with VA. Loved that I could read one right after the other. I think I had to wait for the last two which sort of sucked because you know what happened to Dimitri! I'm dying for this one too! Great pick. :)

    1. It's so much easier when you don't have that wait! I did the same thing with TMI, and then I found out there would be three more books. But I'm not complaining, not really. :P

  11. Hey, me too! Well, I HAD to wait for Last Sacrifice... like 2 weeks, & it was PAINFUL! Yet this is worst... 6-months-wait kind of worst.
