"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week's WoW selection is...
Author: Brodi Ashton
Series: Everneath, book #3
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Publication Date: January 21, 2014
Now that Nikki has rescued Jack, all she wants is to be with him and graduate high school. But Cole tricked Nikki into feeding off him, and she’s begun the process of turning into an Everliving herself... which means she must feed on a Forfeit soon — or die.
Terrified for her survival, Nikki and Jack begin a desperate attempt to reverse the process using any means possible. Even Cole, who they expected to fight them at every turn, has become an unlikely ally — but how long can it last? Nikki needs to feed on Cole to survive, Cole needs Nikki to gain the throne in the Everneath, Jack needs Nikki because she is everything to him — and together, they must travel back to the Underworld to undo Nikki’s fate and make her mortal once more. But Cole isn’t the only one with plans for Nikki: the Queen has not forgotten Nikki’s treachery, and she wants her destroyed for good. Will Nikki be forced to spend eternity in the Underworld, or does she have what it takes to bring down the Everneath once and for all?
In this stunning conclusion to the Everneath trilogy, Brodi Ashton evokes the resiliency of the human spirit and the indomitable power of true love.

After that nasty trick Cole pulled at the end of Everbound, I just have to know what Nikki and Jack are going to do. And even after Cole's deception, I still feel some kind of devotion to him...like he's just misunderstood or something. Gah, I can see why it was so easy for Nikki to fall into him and the Everneath when things seemed so dire and desperate before. January is so. Far. Away. :(
I am so excited for this. I love Cole, but what he did at the end of Evertrue was shocking :( Great pick!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the first two books, but they sound great.

I still have to read book one.. but omg this cover.. her dress looks like a desert.. and my ass is getting bigger just thinking about it. I'm thinking those swirly flavor burst icecream cones. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteAck! I really must catch up on this series. The covers are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI haven't started this series yet. I do hope you enjoy this one when you get the chance to read it though!

On a side note, I second that her dress totally looks like swirled ice cream.
Oh, great pick! I really need to read the second book in the series, but I am hoping to get to it soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope Nikki DESTROYS Cole. I was shocked at the end of EVERBOUND, and while I loved it I was also ANGRY. I'm a devoted Jack fan and amy dying to see how Nikki kicks ass in book 3. From where she began in the first series, barely alive, to her determination now. I love her transformation.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED the first two books (and the novella!) in this series. One of my favorites so far this year. I can't wait to see what happens in the third.
ReplyDeleteSee what I'm waiting on.
I just added this to my Goodreads to-read this morning - I didn't realize it had a title and cover already :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the ending of Everbound and am looking forward to some great action in this one!
So. Excited. *jazz hands*
ReplyDeleteI love this series!!! Great picks(:

ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW, if you're interested :)
I still need to pick up the first book in this series. I got a bit burned out on the Persephone myth, but I've heard good things about these. The covers for this series are so pretty. I hope you enjoy it!

I sadly have yet to read this series, as much as I like Greek mythology inspired books. I'm much more likely now though, since all 3 will be out! Good pick.

Everbound SLAYED my heart. I was never a Cole fan, but gosh, she really got me to actually like him as a person and then BOOM! That stuff happened at the end. I am so excited for this one! I really want Nikki and Jack to have their HEA...
