2013 is the Year of Dante!!! In addition to hosting a review stop (complete with giveaway!) on the 2013 Belongs to Dante Tour, I also had the opportunity to attend The Collector Release Party on Saturday. I just love Victoria Scott to death. She's just so funny and sweet and an overall awesome human being, and even better? She's a Dallasite like myself! The second I found out she'd be doing a signing here, I knew I had to
rearrange my schedule so that I could attend.
There were cupcakes and a raffle and general merriment, but sadly, I couldn't stay long. I'd had a ru-heally long day, thanks to getting up at 5am for that 5k run my sis conned me into signing up for, plus I had to get home to my kiddo so my husband could get to his plans for the night. But don't think I didn't consider it when V invited us to attend the adult release party at Dragonfly at Hotel ZaZa! :D
And thanks to spending the entire day with my sis, I am **THIS** close to getting her to agree to be my co-blogger. We're still working out the arrangement and there are stipulations, but I am so excited! If Dante had told her to do it sooner, she probably would have jumped at the chance. He is that good! =)
And, being the awesome person that she is, Victoria signed an extra copy of The Collector for me to giveaway right here:
You know you want it! |

Ohmygosh, what the heck... I'm moving to Dallas. Besides having the best football team, you also get the best author signings there!! I'm so super jealous. ReplyDeleteI like Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld and Angels After Dark series.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway opportunity. Lucky you that you got to meet Victoria in person.
I just read Wicked Nights (book 1 in Gena Showalter's Angels of the Dark series, and I really liked it. (Have Beauty Awakening, book 2, in my TBR pile too!) I'd agree it's a pretty good Heaven vs. Hell story.
ReplyDeleteFor YA, I liked Lisa Desrochers' Personal Demons trilogy quite a lot.
Ohmygosh! You are so lucky!! I've never been to an author signing before. :(
ReplyDeleteIt'd be so cool if you got your sister to co-blog with you! That's double the awesomeness!

ReplyDelete-Cali W.
My fav Heaven vs. Hell story is The Blue Bloods series. Angels AND Vampires.
ReplyDeleteOh that's such a hard question!!! My all time fave has to be Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld! I adore that entire series! I've read several others where the key characters are angels and demons, but Gena's characters stick with you forever! <3

ReplyDeletehell!!!! mmmm Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld... they are so hot!!!!!!!!!!!! and cute .. jajajaj
ReplyDeletealmendra in the rafflecopter
I would have to go with Daughter of Smoke and Bone, It's not exactly heaven/hell setting, but the emotions and characters give you a feel of warring factions, and the plot gives you the choice to decide if appearances or actions make the person who they are.
ReplyDeleteJ.R. Ward's Fallen Angels series.
ReplyDeleteOh no... why US only ;( Oh that autograph looks so good. Well I already read the book so I at least got the chance to enjoy Dante's presence but it would have been nice to have a signed copy.
ReplyDeleteI wish I lived in the US mainly so I could meet authors... you guys are so lucky...
