Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week's teaser comes from the following book:
Title: Unspoken

Kami Glass loves someone she’s never met . . . a boy she’s talked to in her head ever since she was born. She wasn’t silent about her imaginary friend during her childhood, and is thus a bit of an outsider in her sleepy English town of Sorry-in-the-Vale. Still, Kami hasn’t suffered too much from not fitting in. She has a best friend, runs the school newspaper, and is only occasionally caught talking to herself. Her life is in order, just the way she likes it, despite the voice in her head.
But all that changes when the Lynburns return.
The Lynburn family has owned the spectacular and sinister manor that overlooks Sorry-in-the-Vale for centuries. The mysterious twin sisters who abandoned their ancestral home a generation ago are back, along with their teenage sons, Jared and Ash, one of whom is eerily familiar to Kami. Kami is not one to shy away from the unknown—in fact, she’s determined to find answers for all the questions Sorry-in-the-Vale is suddenly posing. Who is responsible for the bloody deeds in the depths of the woods? What is her own mother hiding? And now that her imaginary friend has become a real boy, does she still love him? Does she hate him? Can she trust him?

My teaser:
Jared met Angela glare for glare. "For Kami," he snapped. "I'm going to write for the paper because Kami's here, and I'm not going to leave Kami's side. Someone's trying to kill her." -- p. 87 of egalleyWell, I don't know if I'd really want to meet the face behind the voices in my head, but if I did, I hope they'd be as overprotective as this Jared character. :D

Nice! I've always wanted to read one of Brennan's books, this one sounds good. Can't wait to see what you think.
ReplyDeleteEven if I hadn't read anything of hers before, this one would still have called to me. A voice in her head that turns out to be a real person? Yeah, it's pretty awesome. :)
DeleteOoh I've heard this is a really good book! Love your teasers. Have to add this one to my TBR!
