TGIF #22 - 2012 Must Reads

TGIF is hosted by Ginger at GReads!  In this weekly feature, Ginger poses a question to her followers and then asks everyone to link up at the end of the post, sharing their responses.

This Friday's Question:

2012 Must Reads: Which books are at the top of your list to be read this year (new or old releases)?

Honestly, every book I want to read this year is a must-read.  There are just soooo many awesome books releasing this year...it's hard to narrow the list down to just a few.  But I managed to do it...sort of.  If you'd like to check out other books that I feel duty-bound to read, see these posts:  2012 DAC and 2012 SRC.  Those are still only a small chunk of the books that must get read this year.  But here are the books that I absolutey must read, or I just won't feel complete:

Okay, so I didn't do very well at narrowing down the list, but you get the general idea.  I'm sure a lot of these are on others' lists, as well, but that just shows how excited we all are for them to be released.  This year is going to make for one awesome year of books.

2012 Sophomore Reading Challenge

So, I caved and decided to accept the Sophomore Reading Challenge hosted by Chick Loves Lit.  I mean, I had already planned to read a lot of sophomore novels this year, anyway, so why not get credit for it?

The challenge is to read ten YA/MG novels that are the second installments in a series.  This shouldn't be hard.  I mean, I had already planned to read all of these:

So, yeah, that's twice as many as the challenge calls for.  Another challenge that's totally doable because these books were already on my TBR.  :0)

Uncovered - 1/11/12

What do you think?  I know I wish publishers would stop changing the covers mid-series.  It really screws with the harmony of my bookshelves.  But I don't hate the new covers or anything.  And more than anything, I'm just excited to read what happens to Saba and Jack and everyone else.  New cover or not, this is a must-read for me.  And, well, it doesn't hurt if Jack is on the cover this time around.  :D  Or do you think that's Lugh?

Uncovered - 1/9/12

New week, new pretties to lust over:

I loved Sweet Venom, and as soon as I finished it, I immediately wanted to read more of Grace, Gretchen, and Greer's story.  Sisters descended from Medusa?  Count me in!  I can't find a firm release date for Sweet Shadows, but it's slated for this year.  Gorgons FTW!

If you haven't read Unearthly, you'd better get on it.  The much-anticipated sequel, Hallowed, releases next Tuesday (1/17), and if those covers weren't gorgeous enough, here's the trailer for the second installment:
